Some over on the ESPN board are criticizing this article, I like it......I think we, Big 12 fan, need all the humor we can get in this rough and tumble season.

Swok, I thought the same thing. The regulars on the original ESPN board are just humorless, I guess. I cannot believe they would attack this article as worthless journalism. They are just looking for anything to attack.

Like many of Voepel's pieces, it made me laugh.

I rarely go to the ESPN board. I suspect a lot of posters don't like all the attention the Big 12 is getting this year.

"attention"??? carolann......the posters over at the ESPN have already called us "over-rated" fourteen ways to Sunday.....
and after OU's loss Tuesday nite, all Big XII teams should drop 5 spots.......that's them talking, not me.

The ESPN board? LOL! Its a bunch of people, mostly UConn and Tennessee fans who jumped on the bandwagon trying to out-attitute each other. When I need to laugh at the human condition, I go there. When I want to have an intelligent exchange of ideas of the womens basketball, I either host my chat on AOL (shameless plug) OR I post here.
I would take the combined knowledge of the game in this forum against theirs anyday. Many of those people are pretty humorless and they don't watch a lot of the game and don't follow the game.
The Big 12 should drop five spots?? LOL! My response to them (since many are UConn fans) is simple.. "Unlike your team, we play in a real conference"

The Big 12 has perhaps 9 teams that'll go to the postseason this year. I don't think anyone will match. Six teams will get into the NCAA, another 3 will go WNIT.

actually, chipper.....the funniest part are the Louisiana Tech fans...... I haven't necessarily found a Connecticut fan that speaks detrimentally of the Big XII. I, also, don't read every post....but I think the Louisiana Tech fans scream the loudest about the Big XII being over-rated.....now, that's a joke! Look at their conference.

I forgot about some of those folks. Louisiana Tech fans are upset because they are slowly being pushed off the gravy train. They are among the last of the AIAW powers to still be Division I contenders. And they are seeing the BCS factor is catching up.
As for UConn fans, I don't need to see a post, I live around them (lol!). They give respect to Oklahoma, because they played them, but many don't know how good this conference really is as a whole.
I've maintained that the Big 12 is number two to the SEC, after seeing conference games in both leagues, my mind is changing. This rising tide in the Big 12 will lift a lot of boats.
