This is from OSU's website. Just think where they would be rated if Coale hadn't stolen Brittney Brown.
STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's basketball recruiting class for the 2002-2003 season has received a top 20 national ranking according to the All-Star Girls Report.
The Cowgirls' incoming crop, which includes five junior college transfers and three true freshman, was tabbed by the prominent national recruiting service with a No. 19 ranking. OSU assistant coach Amy Gusso-Williams was also recognized as one of the top 15 recruiting coordinators in regard to their impact on their respective programs for the 2003-2004 campaign.
'With our newcomers and our five returning players we feel we can make major strides in getting our program where we want it to be,' second-year Cowgirl head coach Julie Goodenough said. 'I really commend our three assistant coaches for their tireless efforts on the recruiting trail.'
Each of OSU's five junior college additions were rated at their respective positions with Nina Stone highlighting the group, drawing a No. 3 ranking at the point guard position. In addition, Brittany Dietz (No. 22 point guard), Elizangela Gomes (No. 8 center), Shyra Samuels (No. 16 shooting guard) and Lynsie Tischhauser (No. 33 power forward) were listed among the nation's best prospects.
Of the Cowgirls' trio of freshman, Destanie Sykes was rated as the 27th-best high school wing player. A pair of all-state selections, Kenzie Cole and Christian Hood, round out the class.

You mean if Brittney Brown hadn't had a chance to go where she always wanted to go and play D1 in her hometown?

Actually, that was supposed to be a bit of a joke. I understand why Brown went to OU. To be honest, if I were in her situation, I would probably do the same. However, I still say Coale should not have gone after Brown so late in the recruiting period after she had verbally committed. But then again, I'm not a Big 12 coach, so I'm not totally versed on how the game is played.
I do think, though, that OSU's class would be rated just a little higher if they had kept her. That's a great class, considering how they did last year. Just think what will happen once they win 10 games!

I too would like to know the story on Meghan Craig. I thought she was showing some promise last year. And Westmoore HS was looking good, putting three players on Big 12 teams!

Craig did have a lot of potential. The story, apparently, is that her heart was never actually into playing college basketball, but she did it more to make her dad happy.
She transfered to UCO, and supposed is not playing this year, though she may play for them later on.
Needless to say, OSU was sorry to see her go, but if you really don't want to be there to begin with, how much would you improve and help the team down the road anyway?

University of Central Oklahoma - Division II school (Lone Star Conference) in Edmond, OK
Not to be confused with OCU - Oklahoma City University - NAIA School with world class music/theater dept.

Yeah, you'll notice my previous post was edited. That is because I put OCU, then realized I meant UCO.
Hopefully Oklahoma State will get back on the map (and in the rankings)with their program. That would be one more ranked team in the Big XII and two more big games for us. Not that the games with OSU aren't big now because they always give us fits at least once every season.

And a world class women's basketball team in the NAIA world. They won the NAIA Championship at least 4 years in a row....last year, I think they were maybe in the final game but lost to Southern Nazarene.? And if you all question sometimes Sherri Coale's outfit's......you have to see the head coach at OCU.

I think OCU's coach is the former Carl Albert High School Coach, who then assisted at Oral Roberts U. for coach Jerry Finkbeiner, before going to OCU. I think her name is Janell Burse, or something like that. She was Paige Sauer's (Uconn) HS coach.
Finkbeiner coached SNU women to several NAIA titles in the early-mid 90s.

No, Craig's uncle is the OSU men's tennis coach.
