View Full Version : Are the young Wildcats the team to beat?

What I have seen is that this team of mere children has oversized confidence and no fear of losing on the court.

Is this the next great basketball team? Or are they just a team that hasn't had their heart broken yet? They seem positively fearless, and ready to take on any challenge.

Remember people, the KSU team has something like 2 upperclassmen!

Any comments?

This whole topic just scares me. You are right, the kids don't seem to have any fear, but I sure do. I still think we are going to lose four league games or more. Being the team to beat may mean being the beaten team at least some of the time. It is fun to watch these kids play though. I have to go to Manhattan in the morning to pick up another 500 tickets for the Texas Tech game, January 27. Clay Center is still snapping them up for Nicole Ohlde day. The Tech game can easily be one of those losses.

We still have TTU, ISU and OU in Bramlage and Texas and Colorado on the road not to mention Missouri at home and away and NU away etc. Expecting four or more losses might be bragging on my part.

BTW we play aTm and OSU away this week. we could easily be bested by either of those teams. Heck last year we beat Texas and we didn't have any reasonable right to. How will the KSU players react to a loss to an unranked team now that they expect to win and are ranked in the top ten? No one knows, but you know that loss is going to come sooner or later, and it may be this week.

Don't get me wrong I love the coaches and the team and I expect they will bounce back and do very well. I just think its easy to get a little ahead of ourselves. But I confess I am enjoying every second of this run. If its a dream don't wake me up!

KSUron, you might not know it yet...

but I think that your team is going to be the sensation of the NCAA season. This is not a flash-in-the-pan process going on here.

It is going to be fascinating to see how your young team progresses this year!

The best of luck to you.

I can't wait to see them play. I don't know if they will be on television before I go to the game in Austin. I love it when a young team catches on. It kind of spills over - look at UT and ATM lately.

The Tech game is supposed to be on Fox on January 27. The Kansas game on January 23 is scheduled for Metro sports but I am not sure how wide that is seen.

Even IF KSU should stumble a bit sometime this year down the line, can you imagine anyone else in the conference eager to play against them the NEXT two years? The only danger is that they learn how to get nervous and choke, that's usually the only thing that really gets in the way of young phenoms . . .

I am so excited about watching KSU play. I hope to be there when they play in Austin on January 30. They make me very nervous. They are very young and talented. Must make all the KSU fans very proud. We too are proud of our young Texas team. I was on Jody Conradt earlier this year even though I like her very much. I felt maybe it was time for her to go mainly because our offense seemed so stagnant and other teams seemed to be running these new motion offenses. I have to totally back away now. She has done a terrific job so far. The coach at KSU must be awesome and Kamie Etheridge I hear has done a great job as well. Good luck to KSU. It is so nice to see a young team develop and do well.

Early on I thought 8-8 in the Big 12 would be great, but now I see a 12-4 record as very realistic. It is amazing what this young group of ladies has done. Any predictions for Big 12 tournament or NCAAs??
