Dang! I tried and tried to get the video and haven't been able to.....Auburn is up by one point with 3 seconds left in the game.....go Baylor magic.
Sophia Young has 20 points and 25 rebounds.....come on, http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/bu.gif
Final score: Auburn 64 Baylor 63 http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/frown.gif
Sure played tough the whole way through the season though, great job Baylor.

Heartbreaker for Baylor.
Minutes in the second half with the game tied at 38, Baylor went on a 13-0 run to take a 51-38 lead, and it looked like they had the game in hand. The run was fueled by a couple of 3-pointers, after Baylor's guards had been scoreless for the game until then.
Easily the player of the game for Baylor, Sophia Young had a Baylor and NIT single game 25 rebounds to go with her 20 points.
I'm not sure how many total rebounds Young had for the tournament, but she had broken the NIT tournament rebound record well before she got her 25th.
In the end, Baylor's inability to put shots down or stop Auburn defensively late in the game cost them the win. What a shame to be leading with 5 seconds left, only to lose.
I predict that Young will be at least an All-American honorable mention next year. She is some kind of player.
Baylor had a season high 7,314 fans in attendance, their fifth highest attendance ever.
Regarding the internet video broadcast, it wasn't terrible, but it did suffer from frequent dropouts and horribly oversaturated color. Most of the time you could follow the action pretty well, but like most bandwidth-challenged internet broadcast deliveries, the video tends to get worse as the action gets faster. I have a pretty fast connection and frequently exceed 800Kb per second, and this broadcast was at 284. I almost always get download rates much higher than that, so the broadcast problem is choked traffic somewhere else on the net, not at my computer.
Maybe the most humorous part of the webcast was that the Baylor cameraman was VERY enamored of KMR's low-cut top tonight, to the point of almost always getting a close-up whenever she squatted down on her heels on the sideline.
Congrats for a very fine end to a season that didn't go quite as Baylor wanted this year; they were thisclose to winning the NIT.

I went to the game, but a friend of my used my computer to watch and never could see it at all. Great game and Sophia played like it was her last. Looking forward to next year. Go section 101!!

This was a heart-breaking loss for the Lady Bears. Credit to Auburn. They hung in there, never quit, and snatched the WNIT championship in the waning seconds. Baylor goes up by 13 in the second half and I'm feeling pretty good about things. Auburn closes the game with a 9 - 0 finish which doomed the Bears.
From a Baylor perspective, it was definitely the Sophia Young show. She was terrific on the boards, finishing the game with 25 rebounds. Her defense suffered when she picked up her 4th foul with about 5 minutes remaining in the 2nd half. Auburn went after her and scored repeatedly. Never could figure out why Baylor didn't do the same thing on our end. The Auburn player guarding Sophia also had 4 fouls, but I don't recall Baylor working the ball into Sophia to counter on our offensive end. All the more frustrating because Sophia was also very effective offensively, scoring 20 points.
Stephanie Blackmon had a great tournament but couldn't buy a bucket in the championship game. She went 10 for 13 from the free throw line but 0 for 9 from the field. That hurt us.
Dionne Brown had a terrific 1st half, scoring 14 points. I'm a little puzzled as to why she didn't see any playing time in the 2nd half, particularly when Sophia picked up her 4th foul. Dionne could have been much more effective on the defensive end. Maybe hind sight isn't fair.
Again credit to Auburn. They maintained their composure in front of 7,300 screaming Baylor fans. Really tough to see them walk away with the championship on our home court.

I couldn't believe that we lost by 1 freakin' POINT. I was really crushed. And ANGRY, too, mostly with myself for going the 'cheapie' route when buying my PC. I am too cheap to subscribe to a DSL, so anytime I try to use any type of data stream it is like watching Beavis 'N Butthead through a glass of beer. I didn't get a much better response from the Gametracker for the same reasons. Will I ever learn?
Gametracker's ok sometimes, but it just gives the cold, hard facts. I wanted to go to the game and now I'm kicking myself because I didn't. One more big ball game before the dry spell would have been really nice. I cheated myself out of a great time in exchange for a day at the office. Might as well face it. I'm a Wuss. Yuck!
