Looking for a bit of pregame chat from the posters for each school re: the game today. Rivalry, matchups, chest-thumping.
Despite Tech's recent problems and defeats,,,,this is just the place and time a Sharper image might just eke out a win---
comments or suggestions????
Other experts are free to jump in.
The ? was meant to be a / in the topic---no special meaning intended

It seems to me Marsha is doing a great job of lowering expectations. UT should be confident, something they haven't had the luxury of in the last four years facing Tech. But this is a rivalry. Its very possible that all the season for now will have no bearing on the outcome.

The paper said today that out of the last 16 games Tech has won 11 of them so it is pretty apparent that the Lady Raiders have owned the longhorns for the last 6-8 years. All I know is that when these two teams play, all records go out the window and it just comes down to who wants it more. The Lady Raiders are really pumped for this game I will tell you this now. On the news there were some interviews of the team members and all of them were very positive and confident. Here's hoping for a great game! Go Lady Raiders!!

No, RP, 'owning' a team is when you beat someone 37 consecutive times over a period of 15 years. For example UT vs. TTU 1976-1991. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif

So was the Texas win an aberration or another turning of the tide? I don't think either team will be able to dominate the other for awhile. Both have talent returning next year and talent coming in. Tech's incoming class for next year looks better than Texas' right now but both teams are getting something very important - an excellent point guard.

I think Tech and Texas will always have a huge rivalry and if it results in games like yesterday's, then I'm all for it, I just want to win a few of those close one's. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif I know there will be more recruiting wars to come as well and yes, both have dynamic PG's coming in that fit each programs style. It should be fun to watch!
