Ok, if you have never been to a game in Knoxville before, you have to go just to see Pat's entrance.

With about 4 minutes prior to tip off, the team runs on to the court (to the fight song Rocky Top) to finish their warm-ups. The assistant coaches and trainers follow right on their heels, and then, about 30 seconds to a minute later, Pat comes out, and the whole crowd rises to their feet. She waves to the crowd like she is at a political rally or something. I swear she could run for governor of Tennessee and win hands down.

Also, I wanted to comment on how friendly the people in Knoxville were. Great supporters of a great program.

I had never met many Tennessee fans until last year in San Antonio and they were the best...I've always liked Connecticut, then I met some of their fans..dang, now I root for EVERYONE to beat 'em BECAUSE of their fans.

Tennessee fans were leaving their unused tickets last year at the OU Hotel for OU fans....of course, that probably had more to do with that "rivalry" they have going with Connecticut.

I agree 100% about the Tennessee fans. They really are the greatest. I went to Knoxville last fall for the State Farm Tip-off, and I never once felt that I was in 'enemy territory' ...not even during the game when 'WWIII' is totally acceptable as long as we don't get too nasty. I'd go back to Knoxville in a heartbeat!

I met a LOT of Tennessee fans in San Antonio and they were all just wonderful. But then, too, I met quite a few Connecticut fans who were great, so I have no complaints about them. Sure, they tend to brag a lot but they have a lot to brag about. Who was it that said, 'It ain't bragging if you can really do it.'?
My sentiments exactly.
