View Full Version : How's everyone doing in the Challenge?
I had a pretty good 290 point first round, and comparing my results through 1-1/2 rounds against the 40 people who had perfect 1st round brackets, I was surprised to see than my overall score exceeds about 1/3 of them, while about half of them are only 10 points ahead. It appears the top scorer through 40 games has 440 points, which is only 50 ahead of me.
And I'm sure that I'm not the top of our Hooscoopers group. I have a hunch that our sharp bunch is one of the leading brackets in the Challenge.

Well, I'm leaving the rest of you in the dust http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif except for somebody name Cory who, by what I assume was sheer and total luck, got the MidEast and Midwest regional semifinals pairings all correct. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif
In the Sweet 16, my skilled experience and knowledge http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/biggrin.gif helped me to correctly pick the Tech/New Mexico, Tennessee/Penn St, & La Tech/LSU matchups.
I also have Texas going to the championship game after they beat the snot out of Stanford (oops), LSU & Connecticut. Don't let me down Horns.

520 POINTS!
Sheer and total Luck?
Some would call it skill and knowledge. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/tongue.gif
So, I'm in first place for now. I'll enjoy it since it will not last very long. Actually, I picked the games with my heart instead of who I thought "should" win.
I have already lost one of my Final Four teams. (KSU)
And, I do not have UConn or Tennesse making the Final Four.
Good luck to all!
Cory, take heart in that I had both UConn and Tennessee into the Final Four, but neither to advance further.
I think we are seeing a whole new game this year, and reputation and recent success may get you a pass through 3-4 rounds, but the mirage of superiority will end for those teams that are not prepared to fight from start to finish through every imaginable kind of difficulty to go grab the prize.
The "Big 2" are not among the teams that I think get to the magical title game. The whole world of women's basketball is tilting on an axis right now, and my money is on the schools between the coasts this year.
We'll see what happens, but if any fans of the Vols or Huskies come around to suggest that the best of the other competitors are going to be intimidated into losing on the basis of previous history, I think they are going to be seriously mistaken.

I didnt even realize until just now that there was a hoop scoop group on espn.com. And I'm even more surprised to be atop the list. But don't worry, thanks to K-State's crumbling, I won't be near the top for much longer.
