Great game played in the "Pit" New Mexico down by 11 at half comes back to win in overtime 91-85.

Miami up by 1 commits two stupid fouls in the last 20 seconds of regulation and the Lobos make 1 of 4 free throws to send it to overtime where New Mexico took over.

Looked like a "packed house" at the Pit.

A sellout from what I hear..the biggest attendance ever for a 1st round women's NCAA game.

UNM was tight at the beginning of the game...had a ton of TOs with double dribbles, travels, etc. But they game out in the 2nd half and showed why they deserve to in the tourney. Adams was terrific and Mandy Moore was hitting on all cylinders.

Yeah, that was a great game, all right. Right down to the wire. The Miami team was a wild and crazy-looking bunch but, dang, they really play BALL. Maybe they should have been seeded higher? I hadn't seen them play before and was really quite surpised.

Thank God for cable tv and ESPN. If there had been this much sports on tv when I was an undergrad at OU during the early 60's, I would have flunked out for sure!

The Pit was rockin last night. Miami very quick and freshman Tamara James is quite a player. I do think the altitude may have gotten to them in the second half. Lobos made 22-32 shots in second half and OT. Free throw shooting almost cost the game. LLobos shot almost 80% on FT's during the conference season, only 15-29 last night. Mississipi St. game going to be very tough.

Sat on the edge of my seat for the UNM/Miami game. I didn't care too much for the officiating in the first half (and some of the second). UNM was getting mugged a few times with no calls. Is it not a foul when a defensive player runs full speed into a screen that her teammates failed to warn her about?

I too thought Miami ran out of gas in the second half, and didn't have quite the hops as early in the game.

I like Mandi Moore's game. Of course I'm a fan of anybody from Canyon. Mandi reminds me of Candi White with a shot.

I hope, please, please, please that Greenwalt can develop the footwork and toughness that Jordan Adams has. Cisti ought to watch that girl's game and try to copy it. Adams has really developed into an all around player. I'd still take Ohlde but Adams is not too far behind in her versatility.

From what I could tell, New Mexico had a lot of trouble stopping the dribble penetration that Miami had and Miami's overall quickness. It won't help that Miss St. is very quick as well if not quicker than Miami. It'll be a tough game for the Lobos but I'll be yelling at my TV (as I was last night) for UNM.

Quickness on the perimeter is a weakness we do have. Mandi has been such a leader for this team since she got here. Set single season assist record for UNM this year-probably break career record midway thru next season. Jordan is such a graceful athlete for her size. These last several games she is finishing her career strong. Good luck with SMS today.

Jordan is a warrior and has some great moves to the basketball, but I love the great shots from the perimeter too. Garcia is a tenacious defender too. I'll be pulling for the Lobos against MSU.

I have confidence in New Mexico. I think they can beat them. The key will be controlling Tan White and the power LaToya Thomas. If you can keep them under control, I think you have a chance too win!

The biggest problem with the Lobos is that they are all polite. Jordan Adams isnt a hoss inside, she just knows how to get the ball in the basket. Early in the season, I watched the Lobos play the lady techsters in the pit, and the Techsters played their style of fierce hard charging basketball (Dey brought de swamp ball from way down in de bayou). UNM lost by lots. If the refs allow the game to be really aggressive, its over. Hopefully Chelsea, Cristal, and International Pop Sensation Mandi Moore can light it up from outside for tonights game, and it wouldnt hurt if Melissa "Hobbs Power!" Forest and T-Scag could contribute big time off the bench like I've seen them do.
