Great quotes from Coach Patterson & Kendra Wecker about the shots KSU missed against Tech...hope Tech is also reading this because the same is also true for them against Texas and KState..they were missing some bunnies in the first half against KState.

"You look at the opportunities that we missed on, we counted 11 in terms of what we would call `bunnies': 3-, 4-, 5-foot shots. Some of it is rushing, respecting the athleticism of your opponent more so than being focused on the pure finish."

and from Wecker
K-State's Kendra Wecker was seven of 17 from the field against Tech in Dallas, missing some shots she thinks she should make in her sleep. At times on short misses, she looked as if she wanted to stomp right through the Reunion Arena floor.

"I don't know if it's a lack of focus or fundamentals, if I'm putting them up there too soft or too hard," Wecker said. "It's more frustrating to me than anything. If it was a three-point shot or an outside shot, it would be a little different. But it's a stinkin' layup."

Another intersting stat:

Koehn was zero of eight from behind the arc in the two games against Tech. To me, that was where we won the game. The game plan the coaches put together was not give them 3's and it worked both times. They new Ohlde and Wecker would get their points, but shutting down Koehn was key.

Agree...Nat did an excellent job defending Koehn in both games. I was watching her feet, Nat was getting her feet right in there with Koehn's making it difficult for her to get properly set. After watching Koehn knock down the 3s against Baylor in Dallas, I was worried, but we did an excellent job against their 3 pt shooting.
