Looks like she's on her way to an All-American career at OBU.
And though probably noone else cares, I'm glad to see my hometown school (USAO) not be so pathetic! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
OBU 88, USAO 87
CHICKASHA -- Jadrea Seeley likes her new home.
A part-time starter for Oklahoma the last two years, Seeley transferred to Oklahoma Baptist prior to this season.
The school thanks her.
The town of Shawnee thanks her.
OBU coach John McCullough thanks her.
The Sooner Athletic Conference already has had enough of her.
Seeley scored 38 points Thursday as the fourth-ranked Bison outlasted USAO 88-87 at USAO Field House.
Seeley, a 6-foot-1 junior from Bethel, hit 15 of 23 field-goal attempts and was perfect in eight tries at the free-throw line. Entering the game her 63-percent success from the field was second in the nation, and Thursday's performance only padded that.
Seeley is second in the country with a 22.3 scoring average.
OBU is 14-2 overall and 2-1 in SAC play. It's been an enjoyable
experience.
"It's pretty fun but it's a pretty physical league," Seeley said. "I really like it. I've talked to many people, and they agree I've found my niche."
Seeley said she is suited for OBU. "I miss my OU teammates, but all-around, OBU is a better all-around atmosphere for me."
McCullough had a good team last year, and Seeley only makes this
year's team better. "She's just an awesome player," McCullough said. "She's leading us by example. I know she's going to blow up into the 40s pretty soon."
OBU recovered from a homecourt loss to St. Gregory's. "This was a good win for us; we needed it after the other night."
Casi Cox added 22 points for the Bison.
It's already been an impressive turnaround for USAO under first-year coach Jay Niehues. The Drovers were 3-23 last year and are 10-6 overall and 2-1 in the conference this year.
USAO was without starting point-guard Peaches Anderson, who sat out due to academics, Niehues said.
