My preacher (growing up) used to have a joke he used often that was sooo corney it was funny. It went something like how the French settled Oklahoma and then sighting Chouteau with it's (made-up) beautiful/elaborate French meaning, same with Calumet, Depew and Le Flore. I don't remember what the beautiful meanings were for the first four, but for some reason I remember him saying the punch line: that Poteau was French for "cow." :rotflol: It was so abrupt, that he had you going with the rattling of the first four and then it ended sharply with Poteau is French for COW! LOL Okay, I'm making myself crack up remembering it.
Back on topic......If Iowa State is nicknamed ICBM State, then I'm going to start referring to OU's 3 ptrs as Meteor showers or Meteor strikes.

Meteor Lights Up Night Sky Over Oklahoma
Greenish Blue Meteor, Possibly Just the Size of a Pebble, Flashes Across Sky, Seen from Florida to Oklahoma
(CBS) A meteor streaked across the night sky over Oklahoma on Tuesday, prompting lots of bewildered residents to phone their local police and ask about the unidentified flying object.
The Sebastian County Sheriff's Office told CBS News affiliate KTHV it was a meteor and likely hit near Poteau Mountain, Oklahoma.
Amateur astronomer and blogger Steven Meeks told KTHV it was likely no bigger than a pebble, and may well have contained copper as a number of witnesses reported the light having a greenish hue.
There were also reported sightings of the ball of fire ranging from the Florida Panhandle to several locations in Mississippi.
TheWeatherSpace.com says the meteor came from the southeast and travelled northwest, and was emerald green with a red-yellow tail.
