(near the beginning and end of the article)

The entire article is worth reading, I think.

Be quick about reading it though. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette does not keep most things on line very long.

Krista Sanchez posted a tournament high 32 points in leading the Lady Bulldogs to tonight’s semifinals against AAAAA-West foe Bentonville.

Sanchez hit 10 field goals, all two pointers, and was 12 of 14 from the freethrow line. Springdale outscored Watson Chapel 18-7 in the second quarter to take control of the game.

Shadae Martin and Onika Anderson each scored 12 for Watson Chapel.

Held scoreless during the first half, Ashley Wettengel had the game placed squarely on her shoulders in the fourth quarter.

The Bentonville senior responded by scoring her team’s first 13 points of the quarter as the Lady Tigers held off the Lady Bulldogs to advance to the state championship game for the first time since 1997.

Bentonville won despite the play of 6-2 senior Krista Sanchez, who led Springdale with 26 points and 10 rebounds. I hadn't realized that her mom had played for Arkansas. I look forward to watching her play.

As recently as 5 or 6 years ago, there were still High School coaches that limited tall girls to the post position. If you have a tall daughter and her high school coach doesn't develop her ball handling skills and shooting skills beyond 3 or 4 feet, you should probably move - or make sure she plays for a better coach in the summer.
