Kansas State players impressed me last night. Not just with their basketball skills which are top notch, but with their attitude and approach.

Ohlde was clearly frustrated once coming to the bench with a big grimmace on her face. Yet not too much later she was standing on the block waiting for a free throw with a big grin. Some may argue she shouldn't have been grinning since KSU was behind in a huge game for the Big 12 championship, instead she should have shown stern intesity. Well, I liked the grin. She was having fun playing basketball and somebody did or said something funny and she enjoyed it. Good for her.

KSU has an outstanding team. I'm not sure Tech can shoot 50% again if they meet in the B12 tournament. And I doubt Ohlde will miss those free throws again. If it happens, it will be a must see game.

Thanks Dblt81. Needless to say Texas Tech is very impressive to. Nicole had always been that way and its one of the reasons she has always been a fan favorite. Nicole was clearly wound WAY too tight in the early part of the game last night. It is very seldom she bricks foul shots that bad. And I don't mean just not sinking them. Several had no chance at all of going in.

Great game for Jia Perkins. And I would bet she can hit those same shots again.

You beat me to it...

Besides being great basketball players, these are really nice people and great competitors. I taped the game and in re-watching the last 10 secs or so, when Coach Patterson waived off any fouls...the KSU & Tech players were hugging each other while Grant walked around dribbling the ball and they all had grins on their faces. I sit behind the Tech basket and I saw clean, hard play under the basket and appreciation from both teams when the other made a nice play. One time when Jia split a couple of defenders..Wecker grinned at her and shook her head and said something that made Jia smile.

Remember...there was a hex placed on the opposing team's free throwing shooting in the USA and last night it worked.

But KSU has a great team and a great coaching staff and they're going to go deep in the NCAAs. Hopefully, we'll get a rematch in Dallas if we both take care of business on Wed.
