I didnt' get a chance to listen to the game and it's probably a good thing. Not a good rebounding and free throw game, again for the Lady Raiders. They shot the ball fairly well but nothing else was working. I know Perkins scored about 20 and fould out with a few min. left. The lack of experience in the post and lack of offense in the paint is beginning to become a real reality. MU is obviously a good FT team and it paid off. I Tech had about 13 more fouls called than they did and the hit them well--Barr was 7 of 7, I think.

I hope these kids can bounce back and beat Texas on Saturday!

These are Sharp's words after the loss tonight:

Texas Tech head coach Marsha Sharp
"It's a little frustrating, obviously, it's tough for us to handle what we're going through right now. I thought you had to give Missouri credit, they played well and made shots and made free throws, and those are all things we didn't do to at least have a last-shot opportunity to win. We shot the basketball much better - I thought Tarr got better looks - in the first half. We didn't get those looks in the second half. We got a little bit stagnant on offense. I think the bottom line for us is that it's hard to run offense when you have absolutely no post play and we're looking at that right now. To their credit, they really took advantage of that and took it to the paint, where we're weak and had people step up and score and we couldn't answer that."

Got to hand it to her to go ahead and make a decision to let Pierson go for the season knowing it could really hurt them. No doubt tonight's loss is a result of not having Pierson. Sharp had some rather *sharp* words for Greenwalt with the "absolutely no post play" comment.

schooner, she needs the freshman to step up, but I don't know how equipped Cisti is to do that.

I mean it is a big jump from HS to college and now Marsha wants to hang her hat on Cisti's performance.

It's nice that she is 6-5 and all, but she needs a little nourishment, not discouragement. She has the potential to be an All-American player, for goodness sake!

Yep, you could say that 8 points from the field from the post players definately won't cut it.

maybe she needs some tips from OU.....our post player sometimes pushes to get 8 points. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

I have to agree that pinning that responsibility on a freshmen player is pretty huge. Cisti's done well in the pre-conference games, heck I picked her for my hoopla team....but I think the Big 12 is something else, I've noticed both Caton and Rosalind playing with a different kind of fire the last few games.

That's the key reason I believe it will be interesting to see how Kansas State's team plays out with so much inexperience and having to play 2 games a week in a physical conference laden with seniors.

Nourishment is NOT Marsha's long suit.
Cisty is doing a good job for a freshman, they just need to get her some help and not totally depend on her inside. She isn't strong enough to do it all on her own.
