Last night, at the OU/Nebraska men's game, the OU Athletic Department honored its "Sooner Scholars". These are the student-athletes who have earned a 3.0 GPA in either of the previous two semesters.

The entire OU Women's basketball team was honored. Every last one of 'em. A few players (I don't remember them all) like Jen Cunninghman, Jamie Talbert, Shannon Selmon, and Theresa Schuknecht got special honors for 4.0s.

When you consider all of the missed class time, compressed study and homwork time, the road trips, the practices, and everything else that goes into being a hoops player, a 3.0 is an accomplishment.

That is neat and something to be proud of for the OU team GoggleGuy.

Sad to say only eight Kansas State players were named to the Academic All-Big 12 Team. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/frown.gif Oh wait, we only have nine players and one is not eligible. Mcfarland is a freshman.

They all made it! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

I salute all these athletes and second your comment about the dedication it takes for D1 athletes to do this.

Thanks for posting this here Row6Seat10. (Btw one of our tickets is Row10Seat6) thats the seat my wife is usually in.

I was already impressed with Shelby Hutchens. Now I'm even more impressed with her and Valerie Migicovsky. 4.0 in premedicine no less! They just might make VERY strong opponents to truma and disease.
