Oklahoma defeated TCU 76-60. Oklahoma pulled away midway through the first half and never let the margin slip. Dales, Caufield, and Talbert all played very well. They carried the load for this team while Ross and Hill kind of took a night off.

That's what will be great about OU this season. If anyone has an off night, there are plenty of other players to pick up the slack. Kudos to Talbert. This was by far her most solid effort of her career. Very few mistakes and she was a rebounding and scoring threat tonight.

Caufield looked great. Really on her game all night long and led scorers with 24 points.

OU wore TCU out by midway through the second half. TCU was very tired leading to missed shots, lack of rebounding, and silly fouls. That is when Caufield seemed to steal the ball at will.

I like the teams OU is playing this year. If not Top 25 teams, they are programs on the verge of being ranked. These are great teams to play for your RPI. North Texas and TCU will rack up a lot of wins this season. They are both good teams. Not great, but good.

How did Shondra Irvin look? She's supposedly a pretty good player with lots of upside.

Dales had a much more complete game than I originally thought. 21 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. She does not play much point guard at all anymore. Probably takes away her chances for being real flashy.

Attendance is 3413 at the game. Thought it was probably more like 2500. Good attendance in that this is by far the most we've had at the first home game of a season. Secondly, here in Norman we are in the middle of a major winter storm. The snow is piling up and expecting 3-6 inches by daybreak. So, no suprise that many would have stayed away tonight.

What is it with home games and winter storms? Both the Iowa State and Stanford regular season games were played during a winter storm last season and now this one. It has hurt attendance.

wow, attendance figure 3413...pretty good considering the weather.....

just a couple of notes.....don't see a "full" boxscore yet though. Jamie Talbert went 5 of 5 FG, Stacey Dales went 7 of 10 FG. Ross wasn't shooting well, she was 2 for 11...she actually did hit one 3 pointer but it was taken away (3 second violation in the lane, I think)..........Caton Hill was MIA, she sat after 2 fouls in the first half and did not start the 2nd half....
don't think I've ever seen that happen. Maybe Coach Coale is taking the "Muffet-Ruth Riley" approach....Ruth Riley was told in her junior year that if she incurred 2 fouls in the 1st 5 minutes, she would be sitting on the bench next to McGraw the rest of the half........it worked, she played much, much smarter her senior year..

Sloppy first 5 minutes though........too fast for their own good sometimes, great passes but when the passee isn't ready, it looks pretty sloppy. Second half much better in that respect. Don't know how many assists Action Jackson racked up (wasn't more than 4), but she seems to have a knack for a beautiful pass in places that look unforgivable (actually some of them were, but not sure they were any of her passes).

Agree with schooner, North Texas, TCU and I think SMU all have very quality ballclubs......perhaps not Top 25 caliber, but pretty close. If TCU would have hit some of those 3's (4 of 24), it could have been a real different ballgame.

OU did a really good job on Irvin......3 points, don't know her rebounds......that's all she scored? Seemed like more for some reason. She ended the game with 4 fouls I think, drawing 3 in the first half (thank you Jamie Talbert!)

Isn't is Solandra Irvin? Well, anyway, she is a smooth player with great touch on her outside shot and can play with her back to the basket as well. Very good size, not too skinny, not too big that she can't run. The impression I got was there is a lot of raw talent there just waiting to be tapped. She has the physique and talent to take over games I think. But not anytime soon. She needs a lot of experience at this new level. She will need to develop some moves and probably become much stronger. OU's double team and weak side help was definitely enough to contain her tonight. Irvin only had 3 points and wasn't the leading rebounder for TCU (don't have the final numbers).

She could probably use some good 1 on 1 training as well for a while. Wonder what she did at the high school level? I say that because it looks like she may take a while to adjust to this new level of play. Whereas others seem to adjust very easily like Perkins at Tech or Jackson at OU.

I think it's Sandora Irvin. She had been putting up some impressive numbers until this game.

Yes, it's Sandora. Finally took the time to look it up on their web site.
