Maybe not so surprising that KU loses to Creighton and OSU loses to Wichita State. Just reaffirms their positions at the bottom of the Big 12 conference. But, maybe we can't say from top to bottom this is a great conference or the best conference. The bottom of this conference is starting to smell again. Granted Creighton and WSU are not that bad of teams.

I think we can now safely say KSU is better than both of them.

I really thought Oklahoma State would have a pretty fair year with Cummings back....though they tend to improve significantly during the Big 12 season......Not sure that Kansas has much of a chance this year with the players that were lost.....Washington does have 6 (?) new players signed for next year.

I also thought OSU would be a improved team this year.
It is still early though; I wouldn't write them off yet.

On the national scene, Washington lost by 20 to Wisconsin. Washington seems to be struggling early. After their finish last year, they started in the top 25.

They may have a down year this year, but it looks like they are bringing in a pretty solid recruting class for next year.

Kansas (6) – Alicia Rhymes, 6-0, F, Shreveport, La.; Aquaneta Burras, 5-9, G, Fairbanks, Alaska (Central Arizona C.C.); Erica Hallman, 5-8, G, Covington, Ky.; Ebony Haliburton, 5-11, F, Kansas City, Mo.; Nichelle Roberts, 6-1, F, Houston, Tex.; Crystal Kemp, 6-2, F, Topeka, Kan.; Tamara Ransburg, 6-4, F, Virginia Beach, Va.

I'll be the first to admit this is an "off year" for the jayhawks, to say the least. you know when you're in trouble when you've lost your 3 leading scorers from the previous year... and the previous year was "a rebuilding year." to give them a little bit of credit- Nebraska almost lost to Creighton, correct? Creighton's not THAT bad. Anyways, we need some scoring. if only Hilgenkamp would shoot the three.

As was stated earlier, we have some good recruits from next year, as well as some decent freshmen this year. Give 'em a chance to turn things around.

Creighton isn't THAT bad? Creighton isn't a bad club at all. They lack size, lack some team speed, but they do what they do well. They should have beaten Nebraska, but an exceptional athlete came through in that game, Nebraska's only exceptional one really.

Creighton should have beaten Kansas and they did, it was no surprise to me.
