The University of Oklahoma Athletic Department in the only one in NCAA Division I to have its football, men's basketball and women's basketball programs ranked among the nation's top 10!!
Go Sooners! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/ou.gif
I watched the OU/UConn men's game. Boy are the Sooners quick!

I watched that game, too, Bark.....was a great game. I don't watch a whole lot of men's basketball, seems the more I watch women's....the more I dislike the men's style of BB. But, I do like watching them when they are close games as that one turned out to be......the UConn crowd was huge in getting the players
into the game, IMO.
Quick athletic teams are always fun to watch. Both OU teams are like that. Fun BB in Norman.
ps. Seldom does any team make the UConn men play a more deliberate half-court game as the Sooner men did.
pps. I am also of the opinion that OU (women) would beat Tenn on a neutral court ... final four?

And maybe even UCONN on a neutral court
Go http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/ou.gif
I hope we could meet on a neutral court. That would be cool.
But who would you (OU) want to beat on the way? Stanford or Tennessee? Pick one UConn would love to oblige the other.

I'm not sure I'd want to see OU have to meet up with Stanford this year, though the "hatred" really fueled them in the OU win last year.....by the way, Susan King, the player who tore her ACL in Norman last year is out again this year with a "stretched ACL"....so Stanford has no love in it's heart for OU, though I think I would have to say ditto for Stanford and Connecticut (if I understand what happened 5/6 years ago correctly).
OU, to my knowledge, has never met up with Tennessee..certainly not in the Sheri Coale era. I'd like to see OU play Tennessee on the way to Connecticut because you know, come tourney time....it's probably going to be set up for Connecticut and Tennessee to play for the final four........and I would suspect, if nothing "drastic" happens......OU wouldn't even meet Connecticut until the final 4.
Though it's early, who's the 4th team?????

I'm picking Stanford just due to the wars and events of last year. They are so incredibly huge, I still think they have more of a problem with the speed of the OU game. It would also be interesting due to Stanford Freshman, T'Nae Theil, who chose Stanford over OU. A new story line to play upon.
Saw she moved into the starting lineup a few games ago and had her first double double their last game.

Yeah, it looks like Stanford's freshman are really pitching in and helping them alot.
I'd love to see another team make the FInal 4 that hasn't been there, or been there recently. Two Big 12 teams would be awesome!
I think the Sooners match up well with either Stanford or Tennessee and would beat either.
Your Sooners have shown that they can hold their own on the boards, dispite lack of height and the injuries to some your post players (too bad it happened this year), and big games are controlled by guards, where the both match ups seem to favor OU. Go Sooners, get one of the top two One Seeds!
Yeah, there's bad blood between Stanford and UConn fans, so I'm sure most UConn fans would like to play Stanford. But Stanford fans are pretty liberal in dissing OU. Was Caufield's foul that bad????? I did not see that game.

Bark.....it was shown on ESPN prior to the OU game vs Stanford.
was it that bad?....the folks in California thought so, thing is, no one in Oklahoma knew a thing until Stanford returned to Norman in the NCAA's.....3 months later.
my whole beef about that situation was not that the foul occurred, but that the Stanford coaching staff did not address the situation of a "flagrant" foul DURING the game, instead waiting until they got back to California to complain. What can an official do a day after the game is over?.....it was pretty much your typical fastbreak try to stop the basket foul.....I don't know that it could have been called a "flagrant" though.
Thanks for your OU perspective. Given what I've heard ... plus you're input ... plus the fact that all my relatives are rabid/bias SF Bay Area sports fans ... plus I'm a Cal Berkeley grad ... Sounds like Stanford whining to me http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
