Texas Tech 22 at the half!

Chipper must be losing his mind.

(I just confirmed the score from Tech internet audio.)

Tech played amazingly lousy the whole game. For them to win by 15 is still a miracle. NU must really have a lot to work on if they can't take advantage of the terrible play of the Lady Raiders. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/confused.gif I do give credit to NU's tough defense but their inability to convert turnovers into points must be corrected before next season. Texas Tech constantly gave the ball right to NU and they couldn't do anything with it.

I don't understand what's going on with the Lady Raiders right now. They just aren't even close to hitting on all cylinders right now.

My near-the-end-of-the-conference-race rankings right now are KSU 1, UT 2, TT 3.

Come on.....So the Lady Raiders had an off night. It happens! Remember the OSU/Texas game? Have a little faith, please.

Tech wins their next 2 games!

Raiders have been having too many "off nights" to suit me.

All they have to do to convince me is beat a couple of average teams in the next 8 days.

Hey give the Huskers a little credit. They played pretty good defensively in this game. Texas Tech's averaging 78 points per game and only managed 50 in this one. Margaret Richards completely shut down Erin Grant. Turnovers and silly fouls hurt the Huskers in this game.

If only the Huskers could cure their shooting woes this game would have went down to the final few minutes.

Best defensive game we've played since Cincinnati. For a rare in the Big 12 season, the fire was there. For the first time in a few months our radio guys had some vigor in the calls lol!

You had kids hitting the deck for loose balls, hustling, picking off passes. Margaret Richards is a weak defensive player in most games. Tonight she played above her station. Held Erin Grant 0-for-6, that ain't too shabby.

Get Nebraska an offense, and that 1-13 could at least by 5-9

On TTU side, there were my national championship pick and defensively, they are good enough, but something's up with this teams shooting. They only thing that saved Texas Tech was Nebraska's fundamental ineptitude. Iron those rough spots out and the Lady Raiders go back to Lubbock with a loss on them

My lasses in red had me on pins and needles for much of the game.

It's not a good time for the starting five not to be clicking. Way too many off shooting nights and turnovers for my liking.

Coach Sharp was a tad worried about this game and rightly so.

The Huskers are showing signs of what good coaching can do for a team....they played good defense.

They couldn't stop Jia though and Tech's zone defense in the last 15 mins or so really stopped NU. Richards and Johnson came to play...but some silly fouls took them out of the game.

Bball hit the nail on the head there. But we always have problems with Jia offensively. She reacts to play before we even get into them, and that's how its been whenever we play Texas Tech. The Lady Raiders always have a tough read-react defense.

To Nebraska's credit, our defense was inspired and played well for most of the game. I'm proud of way we played.

Thanks for the comment about the coaching. Yori, Stephens, Fillar and Timmons have done an EXCELLENT job this year, even if the record doesn't reflect that. I think the real value of this coaching staff at NU will come out next year when the team will be even younger. If those new kids come in and seize a special opportunity, the coaches will have them ready.

Richards and Johnson last night showed how good they could be on many plays. I hope the put in a lot of work in the offseason on fundamentals. Neither shoots well. Neither handles the ball well. If they can work on those skills and get a focus on the game, then they will truly be team leaders.

Leadership was truest difference between the teams last night. Texas Tech, even on a poor night has a Jia Perkins, has a Plenette Pierson. People who perk up the entire team when they are on the floor, and people who put the work in and teammate fall into line and dig in a little harder because the leader of the band does it. The Huskers have no one like that, and game like that often hinge on who steps to the fore as a team leader.

Nebraska is a bad basketball team. There are high school teams that could beat them, but last night they showed the desire that they wanted to win. Can't argue with that. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
