Well, after a long 15 hour drive, I am back from Norman, OK. Some friends and I went down for the ISU/OU game on Saturday. While the game was pretty much a disappointment (we couldn't buy a 3 point bucket to save our lives), but the seats were great (right behind the bench) and overall it was a fun trip.

Some thoughts:

1. Very impressed with the new practice facilities that the women's team has. Plus, from what I heard about the team locker room, it's a palace (complete with Playstations!).

2. The campus is beautiful, the Sooners have spent the oil money very well.

3. I was a little surprised by the turnout for the game, I thought there were more people for the game two years ago then on Saturday.

4. Braum's - Nuff Said.

5. What's up with all the fitness centers around the Norman/OKC area? I have never seem so many gyms in my life!

6. The fans at Lloyd-Noble were nice, although one elderly gentleman behind us just didn't know the definition of a carry.

We had a really good time down there and in two years, a new ISU winning streak will be established!

Thanks for making this post. I'm no Sooner fan....not by any stretch. Your post shares information, compliments an opponent, and helps to strengthen the comraderie within this board and the Big XII. Always nice to see what someone from the visiting team has to say about a trip to an opponent's territory.

Side note...I long for the day the Lady Bears beat those Okie Sooners. Maybe tournament time?

The way it's shaking out, that doesn't look like it will happen.....unless it were to happen for the championship game.
We've been in such the same drought for 7 years with Iowa State; it didn't matter if it was the national championship runner-up team, they couldn't beat them either. Can't tell you how happy it is to see this bunch do something that the players before them couldn't do....it makes it all the more special.

I, too, was surprised at the low attendance...a Saturday afternoon; a chilly but sunny day. Though, I truly hope the crowd that showed up Saturday, shows up in Dallas....though we were fewer in numbers, it was an enthusiastic bunch. I've heard folks say that they will be back NEXT year when Caton is playing......phewie on those kinds of fans.
