Bball Girl, Angela Beck was the Nebraska coach before Sanderford. She was here 11 years.

And before coaching at A&M, I think Harvey coached at either Tulane or New Orleans.

Angela Beck...that's who I was trying to remember. She left NU to go to the ABL with San Jose (I think).
The GREAT Candy Harvey... http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/rolleyes.gif She came from Tulane to Texas A&M.

The Silver Stars should be pretty good this year. Solid bunch with some young Big12 talent in Cockrom and Laniesha Caulfield, and everyone's new fave, Marie Ferdinand (late of LSU fame). Throw in veteran leadership from Azzi, big Nat Williams and good ol' Adrienne Goodson, plus hot rod and former Lady Vol Semeka Randall, not to mention Large Marge - they should definitely be playoff contenders again. With contraction, things should get a little more competitive and the level of play a bit better than the last two. Rookies will have a tougher time cracking lineups for the next couple of years, I think.
I like seeing old vets out there like Goodson. We were robbed of the chance to see some of the players from that era and before in there prime. Lynette Woodard gave the league a go for a couple of years, but you could tell she had lost a step or two since her glory days. I was fortunate enough to see Clarissa play a game for Long Beach in the ABL, and we all saw Coop defy age and odds for several great seasons. It was almost as if she had been charged with carrying the torch for that generation of players, and giving us but a fleeting glimpse of what fans of the women's game might have seen in the 80s and 90s, had the opportunity of "the nextlevel" existed in the U.S. then.

She came from Tulane to Texas A&M.
& promptly fled womens college basketball. I hear A&M will do that to a coach.
I have my season tickets for the San Antonio team even though I'll probably miss quite a few games due to work.

from the article:
Crockrom isn't just spending time working on her game these days. She's also attending classes at Baylor and is scheduled to graduate in May with a degree in communications.
What a gal. One of the things I love about the women's game...
Hey, Carolann - got my Silver Stars tix too - looking forward to a fun summer of WNBA!
