How did Texas manage to steal this one. This is huge. Texas is definitely in the hunt to finish well. Who would of thought the Big 12 had 7 legit teams in the top 25.

I think the fact that Texas never took the lead till late allowed them to stay focus all through the second half.

Have to wonder if CU will stay in the top 25. They should, but someone has to move out to make room for KSU! I haven't paid enough attention to see how other teams ranked 15 and below have done.
Losing to two ranked teams shouldn't do them in, but other than their win against LSU, they haven't done as well as I expected at this point.

Michigan State hammered unbeaten #7Georgia 70 to 49
#23 Cincinatti lost to Louisville on Friday
#25 Penn State got beat by Vandy......

...looks like room for KSU and CU to stay in..

Colorado is DEFINITELY a top 25 team and should stay there. Texas just played a much better second half with Schreiber showing while she is all that an then some. This girl has MUCHO potential. And I will give Jody credit. She coached a very good game. Tai Dillard played huge and we need her. If we can get consistent play from our guards, we should be okay. Still don't know why Alisha Sare is not getting more time. The Big 12 is Big Time in women's basketball.

Iowa just beat Purdue by about 10 or 12 points.

Hook'em Horns! The team showed focus, patience, and persistence. Next up, ISU and Texas Tech at home. The Horns have looked very bad against ISU the past couple of years.

Way to go ladies!! The 'Horns have exceeded my expectations on this two game road trip to start off conference play. Now let's go home and get two more!

Wow Bobcat, can't believe you and I both give Jody some credit. I agree with your other post completely. I thought Jody's comment after the game "This is the only way this team knows how to win." was very telling. I suspect ISU will blow them out, but the silver lining is that they will be better focused for Tech as a result. If they can scrap out a win against BU,TT, or OU at home they might actually improve on last years Big 12 performance.

Anyone hear anything about Kenya's status?

Coach was an active coach today and used stategy down the stretch but the team effort was there with the three leading scorers spreading the scoring around as usual. I bet coach has them shooting free throws Monday! If Schreiber, Cook and Stephens can keep up the offensive and rebounding balance and an off Guard (Dillard or Sare) can come through then these Ladies will give Iowa State and TT a game. It seems if Larkin and White keep the turnovers down then they win. I plan to be there Wednesday to see if the combination is there. I for one hope the Texas crowds pick up in number after these two crucial wins. Good Luck Ladies. Happy BDay Heather nice early present. (20 pts.)

What happened with Kenya? I only got to see snippets of the 2nd half. The last thing I saw was two players carrying Kenya off the court after the game and the announcers talking about all of the injuries we had last year. It must have happened on the final play. Sure hope this isn't serious.

I, for one, am not suprised that we came away 2-0. I knew that we had the team to win those two tough road games. I must say that Texas looked like an entirely different team in the second half - - the team that I expect them to look like all the time! JC did a good job on the sidelines and even got in the referees' butts at the end of the first half. This was one of the most horribly officiated games I've seen! Now, can we recover and take ISU in the Erwin Center? I sure hope we can! What sucks about the BIG XII is that you don't get to play everyone home-and-home. Therefore, some teams have a schedule advantage over others (depending on who you have to play where from the other division). Last year, the schedule definitley was not in our favor as far as playing the teams from the North Division. This year it's in our favor (ISU, KSU, and MU at home plus having conquered CU and NU on the road already). I sure hope we can take advantage of it!!! Looks like Tai Dillard is coming around just when we need her most - - especially if Larkin's injury is serious. Now, we need Sare to get on track!

JK, I'm guessing you saw what I saw at the end of the first half - Jody and the officials were the last ones off the court after having a little "summit conference"!

Tai indeed looked good. Gradually, she is working back into form and I for one hope to see both she and Alisha get more and more minutes as the season wears on.

The team should get wagon-loads of confidence from their results from the first week. Five of the next seven games are at home. They need to defend the home court like a mother bear defending her cubs!

I agree. I think CU is a Top 25 team also. I also think UT should be in the Top 15. They have definitly impressed me so far. Cudos to JC for a tremendous coaching job all year long and especially against CU. I was confused though...Was the telecast The Ceal Barry Show? Let's go get Iowa State!!!!

I think UT will give them a good game. They may lose...but I do not think they will be blown out!!!!

If anything, Texas has a slight advantage mentally coming into the game. With an impressive 2-0 start, that alone is a positive for the girls. They also play their next 2 games at home. Coming off 2 strong wins, it usually gives the girls a good attitude and home court is a plus. We will just have to wait and see the verdict of the next 2 games. Both Tech and ISU are awesome! Let us just hope Texas isn't the victim!!!
