Even with predictions of light snow tomorrow...the Sooners should expect warm greetings at the USA tomorrow. I expect the atmosphere to be even more electric than it was for Vandy...the players and coaches have talked about running through the tunnel feeling that electricity and how it gave them goose bumps and got them even more set on go than they normally are.

The Lady Raiders are having fun again playing basketball. There is no team that we respect more in the Big 12 than OU (nothing against any other Big 12 team). Our coaches always look forward to matching up against Coach Coale and her staff and their creativity. It should be a great atmosphere for women's basketball and a darn shame that it is not being televised.

It isn't going to be a stroll in the park for either team and I'm looking forward to seeing OU try to contain Cisti and our perimeter at the same time. Stacy Dales always brings so much intensity and passion to the game and it will be fun to see her and Tarr or Jackson match up against each other.

Anyway...we can hardly wait for tomorrow!

Having attended the game last year in Lubbock, I totally cannot wait until tip-off tomorrow afternoon. The joint will be electric, rockin', red and black, and of course----LOUD. USA is a beautiful and special place to watch basketball. The fans are knowledgable, supportive and big time into the game. there will be no shortage of goosebumps!!!!

http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/ou.gif also, I believe, respects the "Sharper Image" of the Lady Raiders, their coaches and fans. Whatever happens, the players, coaches and fans will know they have been in a war, by 5 p.m.

Hope both teams dive, claw, fight, glide, box out to their best ability and everybody make it through the game without an injury.
The matchups and flows of the game will be fun to witness.

It will also be great if http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/ou.gif has Lloyd Noble full when Ya'll come to Norman.!!!!! To all the Raider fans, no disrepect intended by the Mizzoula comment a day or so ago. Just a bit of over excitement.

Let the game begin!!!!!!

I had no problem with the Mizzoula comment, but the Lady Raiders could be pretty tough in Canyon, darn near the hometown (or very close) of about five players on the team. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

Let's just agree on one thing. There is probably NO tougher place to play women's bball than the Texas Panhandle----Nazereth, Canyon, et al!!!!! Not to mention Lubbock and Amarillo.

Metro, I thought you would mention Plainview in that comment of tough Texas gbb teams. Plainview could win another state championship this season with their talent.

I saw a tourney game last weekend between Plainview and Canyon. Went to see Brooke Baughman from Canyon and Alesha Robertson from Plainview that committed to Tech as juniors. Plainview won by 3 but they were in control throughout.

Of course I also saw Chelsi Welch, the senior from Plainview, who signed with OU. Welch is a darn good player. I think she will haunt Tech like Phelysha Whaley did.

A quick question. Did Texas Tech player Jamie Nagle red shirt her first year?

No. Her first year was 99-00 and she is classified as a junior.
She came in with Pierson, Pastner and a girl from Oklahoma (can't remember her name).

It will also be great if OU has Lloyd Noble full when Ya'll come to Norman.!!!!!

Want to place bets that this game sells out?......It's February 27th, it's on Fox Sports, it's senior night.........oh gawd!!!
Last year vs Oklahoma State, senior night drew 9,672; we only had 2 seniors and visions of national champion potential. If OU is in the same place last year by this time, it sells out easy..
heck, it might anyway........we diehard fans may need to buy an extra seat for our sleeping bags and kleenex.....6 of 'em saying sonora; gonna be a looooonnnnngggggg night.

Can't be there, I'll be stuck in my seat in row 10 center court at Bramlage. Seriously it sounds like a great game to be in attendance at. Don't tell anybody cause I sure can be wrong but I think OU is going to win.

This game will definately be a great one. Tech will be ready for it though as we know OU took both games last year. Tech will look to make it a half court game which still won't be easy to beat for either team. I think Tech will be looking for an inside outside game where Jia will penetrate and Cisti and Jolee will be the inside duo to complement the guards of Amber and Natalie. I am already excited! Go Lady Raiders!!!!

I think Tech will win a nail biter and the USA will be packed can't wait!

Let's also just hope for a injury free game for both teams!

Most fans of women's basketball think the big game on Jan.6 will be UConn at Tennessee. And they will be right. Possibly two final 4 teams. And then there's the game in Lubbock. Well, guess what. Possibly two final 4 teams. Too bad they won't both be televised. The whole country should be able to see Big XII basketball at its finest.

OU fans stuck in Norman....

According to the pre-game release, the game will be televised by KJTV34 in Lubbock, Texas (satellite coordinates are KU Band, Telestar 6, Transponder 11). I will call around tomorrow to places like Coach's and The Vista and see if they can get whatever KU Band, Telestar 6, Transponder 11 is. Check back to this thread for further info.
