Coach Sharp had her first radio show tonight and they are always a lot of fun..she and Ryan Hyatt have a great time.
Both she and Coach Redding commented that they didn't like the look on the players faces coming out onto the floor for the OU game. That they almost looked in awe of the crowd (which was rockin) and OU jumped on that big time. She put Candi in to stop the bleeding...she and we were all afraid that the score was going to be 80 to 3 in a few minutes. She said the team was so dazed that she could have thrown water in their faces during one of the time outs and they wouldn't have blinked.
She's planning to start Candi on point for the Missouri game and let Jia play the 2 with Tarr, Ellison and Greenwalt. Maybe they're asking too much of Jia and I would concur. Jia normally plays better when she can relax...doesn't have to run the show and can concentrate on being Jia at the 2. While I really like the combo of Tarr and Ritchie, Candi has done a great job as of late and it frees Jia up to create for herself and her team.
I know White and Coach Sharp had a little trouble communicating last season..as Ryan said White's hearing problem has gotten better. I just remember Candi cupping her ear and yelling "what'd you say" to Coach Sharp a few times last season. It took them a while to get in sync...but Candi is such a workhorse and really was a steadying influence on Saturday. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this combo works with Missouri.
