She is one of the best point guards in the nation, but nobody outside the Big 12 has even heard of her. She is the quickest player in the league (sorry Jia and Maria) and does just about everything for A&M.

The Aggies are one of the league's worst teams, but if you surrounded Williams with some shooters she would be a triple-double threat every game. She always plays excellent defense--leads the NCAA in steals (5.2 spg) and will almost always get around 10 points and 10 rebounds per game.

Even with one of the nation's worst shooting teams Toccarra still manages 4-5 apg. Can you imagine the numbers she would put up if she played at K-State??? If Williams was surrounded by a good shooting team, she would be consistently putting up double figure assists every game.

Talk about well-rounded.

With those quick hands and slashing drives, she makes the idea of a quadruple-double not seem impossible.

She has some weaknesses, mainly her shooting, but she makes up for that with her amazing floor game. Rebounds, assists, steals, and in-your-face defense. What more can you ask of a point guard?

The sad thing is, at a place like Texas A&M, nobody even notices how good she is. I sure wish we had her up in Lincoln.

I will be upset if Toccarra doesn't make at least Third Team All-Big 12. After Lindsey Wilson, I can't think of a better point guard in the league, and I have seen all the Big 12 teams play at least twice this season.

You are right, without TAMU being on any national radar, she does go unnoticed....

she leads all D1 in steals right now.

Agreed, she is super quick. However you also must realize that she also leads the Big 12 in turnovers (counting only "regulars" -- those with at least 20 min/game, she has the third highest turnovers per 40 minutes, behind only Ransberg and Baylor's whirling dervish, Chelsie Whittaker)

That stat does surprise me. But I wonder how many of those TOs are the result of people not being able to catch her passes.

Tocarra really isn't a point guard by instinct or training (not everyone who is quick automatically a point guard). She's really more of a LaNeisha Caufield two guard type. If the Aggies had another player who could play point, they would put Tocarra at the two where she could utilize her offensive skills even further.

I hadn't noticed the total turnovers as much as I had the poor assist/turnover ratio.

This is not to knock her talent in any way. In fact makes her contributions even greater because she, like Lindsey Wilson, is having to play out of position.

I agree, soonerman, Toccara is a true two, and a good one at that.

"good one at that.

She'd be good if she could shoot. But Tocarra shooting the basketball is like Arthur Anderson keeping your books.
