I was very impressed with the Cowgirls team and especially Coach Julie Goodenough. They came in and played very well in front of a full house crowd that got very loud and and hostile after some of the foul calls especially the technical on Coach Patterson. I have heard the Purple Palace as loud before but I'm not sure I have heard the fans that angry.

Coach Goodenough kept her cool and her sense of humor but also worked the officials pretty hard as well as coached her team well. As has been said here before Trisha Skibbe played well and showed why she has earned the respect of B-12 fans. I was also impressed with Shelby Hutchens and Meghan Graig. They along with Chantoya Hawkins give OSU some good guard play. Hutchens is a scrapper and fought hard all game long diving after loose balls etc. Craig showed no fear shooting. OSU is coming on. I won't be surprised to see them beat some more teams. I'm glad we got them in Bramlage this year. They would have really given us fits at GIA.

The thing I liked best about the Cowgirls is they were not afraid of the Wildcats at all and they were agressive all the way. With just a small extra bit of talent they are going to be dangerous. (heck they are dangerous now)

I wouldn't want to be their first round opponent in Dallas. They are playing really well right now. If they can put together a full 40 minutes they will be hard to handle. They sure gave us a scare on Saturday.

Yup, those are my Cowgirls. Most nights, they fight to the end. The problem is they just don't have the talent, yet. I said before, and I'll say again -- after their top six, there is a HUGE drop off.

Hutchens has always been a scrapper. She is a Stillwater girl. I have watched her play for years and years, she has always been like that.

All of college basketball needs more players with that attitude. It is fun to watch and good for the game.

As for OSU in the first round of the Big 12s...the only problem is they will have absolutely NOTHING to play for. That means the pressure will be off, but some of the players might have already packed it in by that point.

And Goodenough is awesome. She is very classy and is really a good representative of my beloved university.
