View Full Version : KSU at Colorado 3-3-10
Yes its the Magnificent Seven facing down the Wild Bovine Herd.
The Wildcats have seven active players left after the loss of Shalin Spani to a season ending knee injury. It is thought to be a ACL but that is not confirmed yet. Brittany Chambers ankle injury at ISU turned out to be fairly minor. She was stiff on Monday but by yesterday was said to be moving well.
The seven have their work very much cut our for them taking on the Buffs at altitude in Boulder. Obviously the Cats can not afford foul trouble. Of course we know Coach Patterson will keep three starters on the floor at all times. ;)
Good luck to the players on both teams. I would like a win but at this time of the year for both squads I am also cheering for an injury free game.
GO Wildcats! :KSU:

Yikes...7 players and 1 a bit gimpy, the coaches must be having sleepless nights and I hope the players have been eating their Wheaties.

Yes they are going to need all the energy they can get.
Btw, Spani being Spani made the trip with the team and is cheering them on.

At altitude will K-State have enough in the thank with only six fully healthy players to stay in it late?

Good question. Here is how the K-State coaches have parceled out the minutes.
Kari Kincaid 20
Ashley Sweat 16
Brittany Chambers 14
Taelor Karr 14
Jalana Childs 14
Mariah White 11
Branshea Brown 11
Kari is in great shape and has a strong motor. I'd say the coaches are doing a good job of giving the team its best shot. Karr and White with 2 fouls each, no one else with more than 1.
CU scored the first 2 of the second half and then KSU has gone on a 13-0 run to lead 44-34 at 15:53
Childs has 13 points and Chambers 10.
I have lost the radio feed and the stats feed so I can't tell you anything further.

K-State came limping and had nothing to play for but pride but showed a lot of character tonight. Congrats to the Cats.

Good job KSU. I admire these young ladies for winning the game with only 7 players. At that altitude and with only 2 substitutes, that is an achievement to be proud of.

Everybody played ;)
Five were in double figures and if I heard right Chambers got her first double double with 13 points and double figure rebounds. Kari Kincaid led KSU in scoring with 15.
I am HAPPY to have a loss in pick-em on this game. :D
Btw, it should be said that the Buffaloes fought hard all the way.
KSU led in rebounds and shot a high % in the second half.
The foul shooting in this game was outstanding. The teams combined to hit 39-43.
Spears led the Buffs with 19 and Fressle tallied 17.
It turns out I did hear right.
Brittany Chambers got her first Double double in STYLE.
13 points and 14 rebounds. Not a bad Rodman stat for a point guard.
I have a question for Colorado fans. Is your three guard/forward a Buffalo wing?
Yeah I know.
GROAN :oo
Well that was a sad display by Colorado. It looked like a team (KSU) playing a playground pick-up bunch (CU). So often this season its been CU jacking up three's....if they fall, then they have a chance. If they don't fall , like tonight, then it gets ugly. KSU was short-handed and often shorter, yet out-rebounds CU by about 50%
The best I can say about this season for Colorado is that its over and I won't be wasting any more evenings watching them regress.

So sorry, BeBe. Now you know why I wasn't going to renew my season tickets even if I had stayed in Colorado. Last year, I couldn't even bring myself to go to the last two home games.
