Kansas State 9 1 22 2
Texas Tech 9 1 20 2
Texas 9 1 16 5
Colorado 7 3 17 4
Oklahoma 6 4 15 8
Missouri 6 4 12 9
Baylor 4 6 15 7
Iowa State 4 6 9 12
Texas A&M 2 8 9 12
Kansas 2 8 9 12
Nebraska 1 9 8 13
Oklahoma State 1 9 5 16</PRE>
As of this moment, an meteor impact couldn't keep any of the top 3 from the NCAA tournament. I think CU is one win away from a lock.
OU ought to get in with 2 wins, with or without a conference tournament win, due to strength of schedule.
Missouri is either 2 wins and a conference tournament win away from going to the dance, or 3 more wins in the regular season.
Beyond those six, things get very murky. I don't like the chances of any of the bottom 6 to get into the NCAA tournament; Baylor and ISU look like NIT teams. I don't think the bottom 4 are going anywhere this year.
That's not so bad. A month ago I don't think very many people thought that the Big 12 could get 6 teams in this year, and now it seems likely.
One word of caution to KSU, Texas and Tech - If you lose even one game to a team below you in the conference standings, your chances of winning to Big 12 regular season championship probably have gone right down the drain.
