We're beyond midpoint of conference play. Care to venture a guess as to who goes where in post season play? My crystal ball shakes out like this....(teams listed alphabetically)
Baylor - NCAA 10th seed - win first game
Colorado - NCAA 8th seed - win first game
Iowa State - NIT host team
Kansas - not this year
Kansas State - NCAA top seed - reach Final Four
Missouri - NIT host team
Nebraska - not this year
Oklahoma - NCAA 11th seed - win first game
Oklahoma State - not this year
Texas - NCAA 2nd seed - reach Elite Eight
Texas A&M - not this year
Texas Tech - NCAA 2nd seed - reach Finals
Six teams in the NCAA might be a stretch. I still think Baylor will finish strong while the Sooners help their cause by hosting first round action (and playing well). T-sips, K State, and Red Raiders are a lock. Buffs also pretty safe bet.

Six is a stretch right now..
IN: Texas Tech, Texas, Kansas State, Colorado
ON THE FENCE: Baylor, Missouri, Oklahoma

Chipper Projection:
Texas Tech--NCAA Final Four
Texas-------Elite Eight
Kansas State--Second Round
Colorado----Sweet 16
Baylor------Gets Final NCAA seat, loses second round
Missouri----NIT Final Four

When will the Enron Division make the postseason

I think the committee only takes 5 Big XII teams this year, if that.....our conference RPI the last time I checked was #5.

I haven't seen the latest RPI (collegerpi.com crashes my browser here at work), but I do know that OU has their RPI strongly in their favor. Baylor on the other hand...if it's close between the two, and OU wins tomorrow in Norman, the edge goes to OU.
And while I think OU will lose at CO, if they end up the #4 and #5 seeds, they could get another shot at them in Dallas. In a rematch on a neutral court, I'd pick OU.
At this point, unless OU just crashes and burns, I think they are in the NCAA.
Texas Tech, KSU with at least #2 seeds (if one of them wins out, a #1 seed is likely--I'd put my $ on Tech), Texas a #3, and OU and Colorado in the #7-10 range.

I'm with Jennifer........

Here are the current RPI numbers from the www.wbca.org (http://www.wbca.org) site which I think is a closer format to what the committee uses.... http://www.wbca.org/upload/rpi020903.pdf
Kansas State #4 SOS #24
Texas Tech #5 SOS #20
Texas #16 SOS #35
Oklahoma #23 SOS #8
Colorado #29 SOS #121
Baylor #59 SOS #136
Missouri #75 SOS #57
Iowa State #76 SOS #16
I'm listing the Top 8, because I think there are about 4 of us that could contend for 5th place finish...Colorado is sitting with a 2 game lead over the group of 4.
The Women's College Hoop has a new article that shows the 207 teams that have been eliminated and some of those teams can ONLY make the NCAA's if the WIN their conference tourney....
though TAMU is not yet in that bunch....Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma State are.
If I understand the rules correctly, the committee will NOT jump over one conference team in the conference standings to take another.
And the conference RPI for the Big XII sits at #6, ouch!...the ACC leads in their RPI.

Wow I agree with Chipper. That's a first. No question Kansas has to change coaches NOW. While she was good at one time. Her time at KU should be coming to an end. She isn't getting the players needed to compete in the Big 12. They're not well coached and it's time for her to move on.
I wonder if she's still at KU because she's black and KU is worried about firing a black head coach. Much the way that Kentucky should fire Maddox because she hasn't done anything.

Well, not to mention the public relations nightmare that may ensue for getting rid of a coaching legend. Despite her not-so-great track record in the NCAA Tourney (and that's an understatement), she has been there forever and is now referred to as a legend. KU would take a public relations hit on this if they force her out. Seeing as how they draw next to squat in attendance, this is probably not a hot issue at KU.
And for some reason - some of the players Washington has recruited just have not panned out. She got player of the year in Kansas in Blair Waltz a couple years back and she has done nothing really for KU.

That is an ugly, unfounded comment.
There are many other reasons why Washington might still be at Kansas. The first reason is that Washington has been at Kansas for a very long time and built the program from nothing. She had many years of success. In the past, coaches with good track records have been allowed a few down years. A second reason might simply be that Kansas has not gotten serious about its womens basketball program yet.
She [Marian Washington] isn't getting the players needed to compete in the Big 12. They're not well coached and it's time for her to move on.
Kansas had a few some bad recruiting years. However, this year's freshman class appears to be athletic and talented. Blair Waltz is a sophmore - a little young to be written off. Watching Kansas against Texas, I was surprised at how bad the team looked even considering the youth. When the team first came out, they looked much better than cellar dwellers OSU or A&M. Next year, Kansas will have one of the top 5 recruits in the nation - admittedly a girl who is rumored to have some baggage. If Washington is kept on after this year, next year should really tell the tale.

Yes, that is true. This is a very young Kansas team. Definitely think we should wait about 2 more years to see what Kansas will turn into.
However, on Waltz - what has she ever done that is noteworthy? She seems to have some games where she can give you 6 or 10 points, but she is a very bad shooter and turns the ball over way too much. If she showed some very good games occassionally then I can chalk up her stats to youth. But we haven't really seen any great games from her at all. Looking at just sophomores in this league, there's easily 10 other sophomores better than her.
