I've borrowed Bball Girl's post awhile back that compared the B12 Coach's Preseason Poll vs. where we were at the time of Bball Girl's post, so I thought I'd do another one as we're rounding the corner and heading down the final stretch run.

Here's Bball Girl's post:
What a difference 4 games can make...there's a lot of games to go, but I was curious to see what the coaches thought vs. what's happening to this point.

2009-10 Big 12 Conference Women’s Basketball Preseason Poll
1 Baylor (5)
2 Kansas (3)
2 Texas (3)
4 Texas A&M (1)
5 Oklahoma
6 Nebraska
7 Iowa State
8 Kansas State
9 Oklahoma State
10 Texas Tech
11 Colorado
12 Missouri

And here are the current standings:

1. Nebraska 12-0
2. Oklahoma 9-3
3. Iowa State 8-4
3. Texas 8-4
5. Texas A&M 7-5
6. Baylor 6-6
6. Oklahoma State 6-6
8. Kansas 5-7
9. Texas Tech 4-8
9. Kansas State 4-8
11. Colorado 2-10
12. Missouri 1-11

Looks like the only thing that has held is the bottom.

You know, there were some pretty smart coaches voting on this poll. If even they were SO wrong, what does that say about the predictibility of this sort of thing? And why were they so far off? How much did injuries play a part, etc.?

If injuries played such a key role, then OU would not be #2 right now. Hand was supposedly the heart and soul of that team.

If you watch the OU bench, you'll see that Hand may still be the heart and soul of this team.

Tech would be much high too IMO.

Tech lost Nobles 6'3" and Talley 6'6". They also never heard back from the NCAA on Wickett 6'3".

No double Nobles & WIckett would have and will make Tech much better.
