View Full Version : Poof! They're gone.
The Oklahoma Sooners fell out of the AP women's basketball poll this week after losing to Texas A&M and beating Oklahoma State.
The last time the Sooners were unranked in the AP poll was the week of January 10, 2000.
Not unexpected, although it's kind of sad to see a 37 month run in the poll end. Several long streaks have gone by the wayside for the rebuilding Sooners.

It is sad for OU fans. It would be hard for any team to thrive with the injuries OU has had this year. Where would UConn be if the Huskies' lone returning starter, Diana Taurasi, and 2 or more of their top freshmen had gone down with an ACL this year? They wouldn't be number one. You have to hope that the team comes back strong next year and that the momentum for fan support doesn't suffer to greatly.
As an opponent, I have to think OU will much more dangerous next year.
This is also unfortunate for the conference, as only TTU, Texas, and KSU remain in the top 25.

ah, but this provides a little extra incentive to a team that has so few players left that actually *earned* all those weeks in the polls.......it will be interesting to see when the entire poll comes out how many votes they received.
Might actually help OU. Just please, please, please don't put any pressure on yourselves to get back http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif That "pressure" to achieve has been this teams biggest problem.
