Iowa State is giving up a whole lot of offensive boards and is not shooting well at all...
Wilson is sick and is being rested as much as Fennelly can afford to. This is getting ugly.

On the pregame Bill said they were going to take as much time off the clock as they could before the shoot and I think that has them out of snic.
Well, we'll have to ditch that philosophy. We're down 21. We can't afford a slow-down game anymore. Unfortunately, I don't think Wilson is healthy enough to play much of that.

They are looking like the team that played Missouri in Ames a couple of weeks ago. This is the 2nd time this year that Lidsey has been not healthly.

I don't think Wilson is the problem today. I think she needs some help. She's playing her heart out thus far.
Agreed. Wilson is playing great despite her illness. In fact, I'm relatively happy with the play of ISU as a whole in the second half. That first half was a killer.

Too much dribbling and not enough passing for Iowa State.

Yeah. Tech took ISU's offense completely out of the game. ISU was content to run an NBA offense out there (nothing but isolation plays), and I don't know if that was by design or out of necessity.

Final 70-48 Tech. Over 13,000 in attendance and on ESPN 2!

Iowa State looked much better the second half. I've noticed from looking at stats for Hoopla! that Lisa Kriener looks, statistically, pretty steady. It looks like Kriener could be more assertive and get more involved offensively. As the announcers mentioned Sunday, she needs to run the floor hard whenever she gets the chance.
You can tell by watching her that she picked up some nasty moves from Welle on offense. She tends to look less awkward than Welle did while doing them (Welle never got points for gracefulness http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif ) but there are some games the shot just isn't falling for her. I think ISU needs to keep feeding her. She should touch the ball in the post on almost every possession.

I have been very impressed with Lisa Kriener's play over the past few weeks. She is quiet good at the Angie Welle Waltz. However, Welle was the only player I know that could make a layup from the free throw line. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif Lisa will only get better and she appears to be gaining confidence.
Grant looks like such a little kid on the court, but she sure can deliver a no-look bullet pass to the post. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif Tech played a very good game and it was good to see Tennal play. I have not seen her all year. I don't recall if she played when Baylor was in town.

Quote by Bill Fennelly after the Tech game:
"We've played K-State, we've played Duke and a lot other outstanding teams, but (Tech) is as good as anyone we've played. Somebody is going to have to play their brains out to beat them in this building."

Let's hope, Guns Up, but we've still not beat anyone in the Top 15 and I won't think we're Final Four material until we do. That's just the way I see it right now. I think they looked pretty good yesterday, but...
