In an ugly Nebraska-Missouri, Evan Unrau is the only person on the floor who can't miss...She has 18 on 6-of-11, and Tracy Lozier has 13...Missouri leads 59-36 in the 2nd half.
Nebraska shot 26% in the first half, although they are playing a bit better. It's too late to entertain hope of victory. The forward position is especially week as Nebraska forwards are shooting a combined 9-for-30 right now http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/frown.gif

Jennifer, Unrau was money...she ended up with 23 points. Unrau was just unstoppable, and she set the table for the whole team. Missouri shot the lights out, they played strong D. No two ways about it, the Tigers killed my lasses tonight.
And the ladies in red helped them do it with a mix of bad shooting and carelessness with the basketball. They were just ripping the living daylights out of us. Our best players were just throwing shots up there.
And the sad thing is, first half, our defense was very formidable and we were rebounding well. It helped get the game tied twice. The Tigers go on a role and stayed on it, and they broke our defense down, and it got to a point mid second half where they were just scoring at will.
Our inside game kinda quit on us tonight. Amanda Cleveland wasn't aggressive. Laura Pilakowski can't hit anything right now. Griechaly Cepero has as many turnovers (5) as points (5), although she did have 7 rebounds. Outside, Margaret Richards gave up in the second half, when her offense went cold.
Overall, tonight was frustrated because at points we played well enough to be competitive, but again we didn't die properly. We got down on ourselves and by the time we got up it was way too late and again we got down on ourselves.
If this team is lacking heart they'd better find some quickly. The schedule isn't very kind.

In her post game interview Connie Yori sounded a lot happier with the team's effort tonight. She said that Margaret and Alexa are starting to get a little worn out and that both have lost some of the elevation in their jumpshots.
I think the girls played a lot harder tonight, they just got out shot. Yori said that they competed hard but they just need to start making shots.
One of these days all those layups we have been missing will start to fall. Nebraska is way overdue to shoot 40% in a game...

"Alexa are starting to get a little worn out and that both have lost some of the elevation in their jumpshots.
It would help if Alexa would quit taking so many jumpers and actually drive the hole. 6'2" and plays like she goes to Iowa State, the only difference is, the Iowa State girl would actually hit the shot.
"Yori said that they competed hard but they just need to start making shots.
Connie must not have been watching the forwards on defense tonight. How many first step confrontations did we lose?
Competed hard, at points, but I disagree with coach. The effort was wanting at too many spots. Especially when we got into a hole.

hopefully next year will bring the team the heart, determination AND the shooting ability when we add some NEW faces to go along with the other ones!!!
