Texas Tech up 11-5.
The Lady Raiders start out a perfect 4-4 from the field, 3-3 from behind the arc, from three separate players.

Smalls doing a good job guarding Riley. Riley just took her first shot of the game.

Tech 6-11 3pt FGs. Wow...where did that come from?

Roberson only has 3? Very balanced scoring by the Lady Raiders.

mgood1
02-13-2010, 07:04 PM
Yeah, nearly all the points have come from the underclassmen.
Roberson has 3, Murphree has two, Martin has 0. So five points combined between the three seniors.
If Murphree and Roberson get on a roll in the second half, we can put this thing away.

I love those kids. They just keep playing hard no matter what goes on around them.

Lady Raiders never trailed. They are learning how to finish out those close games they lost early in the season.

Andrea Riley was held to 18 points.
Most of the credit for that goes to our freshman point guard, Monique Smalls.

Right, Riley was 0-2 from the free throw line. That was the ball game right there. Smalls effectively defended Riley without fouling. Her defense is a great asset.

With almost two-thirds of the conference season in the books, kudos to Ashlee Roberson one of the best all around inside/outside players in the conference.

She probably won't make even honorable mention All-Big 12 since Tech players seem to be invisible in recent times. But I see what she is doing and I applaud her terrific play.

What do you know! Ashlee played too big to be invisible this week! Congratulations on a well deserved recognition...

Kelsey Griffin (Nebraska), Ashlee Roberson (Texas Tech) and Carolyn Davis (Kansas) were named Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Players of the Week by a media voting panel for games from Feb. 8-14. Griffin (player) earned her eighth career award and third of the season. Roberson (player) picked up her first honor while Davis (freshman) was recognized for the second time this season.

and yes, I'll admit it, good coaching by Curry. Didn't foul Riley, didn't give OSU a bunch of FTs.
