In a MWC matchup, Utah and TCU went into quadruple OT with TCU finally prevailing 105-96 despite a 45 pt output by Kalee Whipple from Utah.

UNM beat TCU, lost to Utah in Salt Lake, but takes on Utah on Saturday in the Pit (I'll be there)

Last year's UConn vs. Syracuse men's game at the Gardens went to 6 OTs on ESPN. Incredible game!

More on this game...
Televised on CBS College Sports Network, it preceeded a men's game between UNLV and UNM who were tied for 1st in the MWC. Due to the quadruple overtime, the game
CBSB chose NOT to break away from the 4 OT game and go to the men's game. So, viewers missed the 1st half of the men's game.
So, what's the issue...you're thinking, it's a quadruple over time game. Of course, you stay with the game.
But you're not thinking like a fan only of the men's game. Folks in ABQ and Las Vegas are outraged.
The Las Vegas paper had a small article about it.

The ABQ Journal had a story above the fold about this issue...the story was longer than another story about the women's team.
Letters to the editor, to the sport editor, downing the women's game, the decision by CBSB, etc., etc.
Wasn't it just last year that ESPN chose to stay with a men's NIT OT game when a women's NCAA tourney game was over way - maybe even a final 4 game.
I'm trying to find a place to send CBSB a message of thanks for sticking to the game of basketball regardless of whether it's men or women.
And I'm going to send a letter to the ABQ journal telling the guys to get a life and wake up - women's basketball should NEVER BE SECOND CLASS TO MEN'S BASKETBALL.

There's always outrage from the men's fans when the women's game coverage isn't pre-empted for theirs, or if their coverage gets pre-empted for a women's game.
Of course, sometimes we have to look back at what the situation is: I think that the in-progress regular season games should be shown in the order of the game, and that post-season games should trump regular-season games (coughncaavolleyballchampionship2009cough). But, among regular-season basketball games, there shouldn't be any preference of men's over women's, especially if a game goes multiple overtimes.
Kudos to the coverage for sticking with the game!
