Kansas State over Baylor: Baylor will have big match-up problems with Ohlde and Wecker. That Ferrell Center is a tough place to play though.
Colorado over Texas A&M: As long as CU has less than 15 turnovers and plays with a lot more focused than they did at Missouri.
Texas over Kansas
Missouri over Nebraska
Texas Tech over Iowa State: I think that Tech is just a couple of steps faster, and is too athletic. Will Coach Sharp match Perkins up against Wilson?
Oklahoma over Oklahoma State

http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/bu.gif That's right, I said it too! Best chance before March 6 to give them another loss; Baylor playing with more confidence now, athletically, they match up well...

http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/cu.gif surely A&M can't do that two games in a row...

http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/ut.gif this train isn't even slowing down 'til we get to Lubbock...

http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/mu.gif Tigers playing with gusto; legitimate shot at that 4 seed in Dallas now if they can win these games...

http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/ttu.gif Much as i'd like to see the upset, Tech with a week off will be a shoe-in...or will it? The real ISU is still a deep, dark mystery to me...

http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/ou.gif C'mon, Sooners, get your **** together and don't make fools out of all of us again...please.

Kansas State at Baylor - hmmmmmm, I've seen how KSU responds to a poorly played game or a loss. Ouch, anyone seen Baylor's next three games on the schedule? Kansas State

Colorado at Texas A&M - can Gillom and Co. pull another one out? naw, I doubt it. Colorado

Kansas at Texas - double ouch! Texas

Missouri at Nebraska - hmmmmm, I really think Missouri is playing really well right now Missouri

Iowa State at Texas Tech - I really think Texas Tech's train will keep on a rolling right on up to March 6th. Texas Tech

Oklahoma State at Oklahoma - let's see, this game is for bedlam points.....and right now, OU is behind oh, something like
0-6 just for this year...let's right the ship, girls....then we can go around wearing T-shirts that say "110-30, na.na.na.na...
you can't beat us" http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif Think crystal bell, think crystal bell, think crystal bell, http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/ou.gif

and, yes, true to my homer self.....at least for games against the Enron Division....I'll still go Oklahoma

Kansas State at Baylor [FSN], 3 p.m.......This game is gonna be close. Seeing Baylor last night, I saw a team with some flaws, but the make up for them by making plays, and they need a lot of plays to win here. Kansas State had an off night, and really should have lost to Missouri, but they do what contenders do, they win the tough ones. I see them winning a tough one here.
Kansas State 69, Baylor 67

Colorado at Texas A&M [FSN], 1 p.m.....WOW! Peg Gilliom's group pulled one off. It probably won't save her job, but it may make her smile amid the yawns in College Station.
Colorado is the better team here, and now all the parts are working the way they are. Colorado 79, Texas A&M 68

Kansas at Texas, 1 p.m.....Kansas will at least maintain some dignity. Texas 84, Kansas 60

Missouri at Nebraska, 7:05 p.m.....The Tigers are heading into the NCAA High Sierras with Evan, Karensa and the Stretch Limo leading the way.
The last time Nebraska played Missouri, they believe in themselves. The effort was there, the execution wasn't but they play well and lost by 12.
Against Baylor, I saw the Nebraska team of last season. No ability to execute, No focus and No heart.
Nebraska gave up on themselves against Baylor, they can't afford to do it against Missouri. It hurts me to see a team that has come together to be a better group of people than that sorry group I saw last year end up being a worst team.
I'm going to be a homer and pick Nebraska because I'd hate the think that these girls are just going to lay down and get beat at will.

Nebraska 65, Missouri 62

Sunday, Feb. 9
Iowa State at Texas Tech [ESPN2], 3 p.m.....Memo To Iowa State...GIVE LINDSEY SOME H-E-L-P!!!!! She'll need all of you this week.
The Lady Raiders are continuing to build themselves up and move forward, but based on what I've seen the last five games, they are quite Atlanta-ready. But then again, who really is?

Texas Tech 79, Iowa State 65

Oklahoma State at Oklahoma [SSN], 2 p.m......It's Bedlam, and that Cowgirl Magic could come in...nah!
Oklahoma needs some more scoring punch and more consistentcy, but I like the hustle. OU's having a sleeper year

Oklahoma 66, Oklahoma State 50

Kansas State at Baylor- This one could be very tough, but what's new? It's conference season. I think Wecker has a breakout game to make up for her poor(somewhat) showing against Mizzou

Colorado at A&M- Can they pull of the upset twice in one week? No. Not even close.

Kansas at Texas- Should be a fairly easy win for the Longhorns. If it was in Lawrence, there'd at least be a little upset potential, but not in Austin.

Missouri at Nebraska- Although this isn't a popular pick, Nebraska is ready for another win, and I still say we won't have 3 teams win on the road in one day.

Iowa State at Texas Tech- Like others, I'm a bit baffles as to what to think of ISU. That happens though when so much rides on one players shoulders. I say Tech wins, but not by as much as they'd like. Oh, I predict terrible officiating too.

Oklahoma State at Oklahoma- Will Oklahoma beat OSU at anything this year?? I think so. I don't think Sherri will let them lose. I'd imagine they had some intense practices after the A&M game.

Kansas State at Baylor
I'm picking K-State, but if Baylor won it wouldn't surprise me at all. KSU has no depth to speak of, and any troubles at all could mean a Baylor win at home. Baylor is tough and physical in the blocks, and will limit KSU's effectiveness inside, but the Wildcats have a better backcourt, which I'm counting on to be the difference in this game. KSU by 4, decided late.

Colorado at Texas A&M
CU's been alerted that A&M is capable of the upset, but CU has been playing well lately, and can't afford a slip-up on the road against an inferior opponent. Colorado by 12, with A&M closing late.

Kansas at Texas
Kansas is much improved this year, but one thing that they don't do well, Texas does VERY well - protect the basketball. Texas by 31.

Missouri at Nebraska
Nebraska want's this one badly, but Missouri's just playing too tough right now, and is still very much in the race for the #4 spot in the Big 12 conference. Missouri by 8, but not without a big fight.

Iowa State at Texas Tech
The Cyclones have been playing much better lately, but not nearly enough to get a win in Lubbock. Tech by 22.

Oklahoma State at Oklahoma
I'm hoping that the awful, stinging loss to A&M shakes up and wakes up this OU squad. Sooners play one of their better games this season against the league doormat. Oklahoma by 41.

KSU @ BU
Baylor in another close one. I think Baylor's depth will be the difference. The Lady Bears next 3 (KSU, @ OU, TTU) are killers, but that is what we expect in this conference.

CU @ TAMU
CU wins without the altitude.

KU @ UT
Jody will be able to rest her starters in the 2nd half.

MU @ NU
Missouri all the way.

ISU @ TTU
TTU big.

OSU @ OU
OU gets back on track.

two cents
02-08-2003, 02:46 PM
Kansas State at Baylor---Wildcats intricate offense should be a test for Bears defense...but if Jordan Davis has a game like she did against ISU in Ames last year...KSU over BU

Colorado at Texas A&M---Buffs struggled against Mizzou's press...should have kinks worked out...if not...uh oh...CU over A&M

Kansas at Texas---Longhorns had a week to work up an appetite...team should still recall scary moments against KU in KC from last year...UT over KU

Missouri at Nebraska---picked Huskers last 3...got 1...not good for my win pct...MU over NU

Oklahoma State at Oklahoma---Sooners back on the climbing portion of the season's roller coaster...OU over OSU

Iowa State at Texas Tech---earlier in season, Coach Fennelly's defenses might have stumped Cyclones as much as opponents at times...now they just confuse opponents...should be an interesting challenge for Erin this weekend...TTU over ISU
