Despite shooting 13% Baylor lead 13-12 but OU went on a 15-2 run to end the half and is leading 27-15 at half.

As an ISU fan, I like to see Baylor playing a tough, physical and emotional game while our girls sit at home resting their legs for Sunday!

some great games tonight!

The game was just stopped for a moment because a fan threw something (the commentators said it was a coin) onto the court.

Amanda Thompson was awesome tonight!

Career night with 3 made 3s in the game. She had made 3 the entire conference season, according to the commentators. And they were at huge moments while BU was battling back.

To have looked so ragged the first half, our army of freshmen sure came back in a hostile place against mostly seniors and juniors. People better get their licks in now

You knew it was coming - but wow, Griner so completely changes the game for the other team. I just lost count how many shots she altered for OU by simply being there - not necessarily blocking them. She can single-handedly put the other team into an offensive funk.

Not having Melissa is really hurting Baylor. She could easily have been the difference tonight.

Oh My Word!!!! Amanda was a monster tonight! Just when you thought we were losing grip, here comes AT with a steal, a defensive rebound, an offensive rebound or those sweet 3 ptrs; one of which coming with 1 sec. left on the shot clock.

Boy, I can't wait 'til Griffin gets here next year, b/c we're going to need someone down low that can hang (even though just at 40%) with Griner. I thought both AO and Jo did a decent job tonight. It's definitely by committee when you take on Griner.

On a side "style" note.......Did Kim just wake up? It was definitely a bad hair day for tonight. But I just love her in those leather pants. How many does she own? I think we need to start counting. I've already noticed she has added to her purple gator wrastlin' jacket with a powder blue and gray one.

I've never seen Melissa with her hair down. She's even more beautiful!

Hmmm, your join date says Jan. 2007. I've always been complimentary to Kim. I've even preached in defense of her when some football poster wonders over to our women's board and posts things that make even the cold hearted Sooner embarrassed.

I'm only speaking for myself, but I've always made observations about our coaches. Mostly good, and rarely bad. It's all in fun. Don't take me seriously.

If you do a search for "Gator Wrastlin' Jacket" on this site, you'll find that I'm involved in almost all of the threads as well as many others. So I'm sorry it's just now offending you.

If the definitition of Most Valuable Player means the player who means the most to their team, then the award has to go to Brittney Griner. We saw in the last 3 minutes of the first half, what Baylor would be like without Griner. This would have easily been a 30 point game. Baylor would be in last place in the league without her.

I've been "obsessed" with Kim's clothes for as long as she has been at Baylor. Her choices are like no other coach's I am aware of. Flamboyant? Unique? Both of those words and probably a few others apply. I can't imagine Kim isn't well aware of the effect she creates with her clothes and plays to that. Image IS a part of being a public person!

Shari also gets a lot of attention about her choices - particularly shoes! And of course she turns that into a "signature". There is a support group named The Stilettos: community leaders who "embody what it means to be successful outside the arena."

And no, I do not prefer the look chosen by Tara and Tara look alikes. Ugh!

And Budke can keep that double UGH Orange coat! LOL

I'm thinking, and hoping, that Kim dresses like that to take away attention and pressure from the team. Of course, Sherri only dresses like she does during the games. She's very casual off the court.

I don't necessarily mean you...but go read the ESPN, Rebkell boards etc. As a BU fan, we get tired of it. If they ragged on Sherri's shoes or hair everytime she was on TV, you would too.

I think Kim intends to draw that attention to herself so that it takes away any pressure or attention on her players. I don't think she'd ever where those clothes anywhere but on the court!

If Kim didn't want people talking, she would dress differently. She loves the attention! She carves it!

By the way, I hear a lot of announcers and fans talk about Sherri and her outfits as well. But in truth, Sherri doesn't get as far out there as Kim does. The OU coaches dresses well, but is a bit more reserved than the "trendsetter" in Waco.

Trinny Mulkey and Susannah Coale have raised the dress bar...notice how much Connie Yori's wardrobe has improved this season?.....that's the Sherri-Kim Fashionista effect :)

Kim IS unique and chooses to present herself that way and I think that is great. It is sort of like Andy Lander's hair. If either one of them changed their trademark, the hue and cry would be heard around the WBB world :rotflol:

IMO - the Baylor fans could just celebrate the LA-TEX style. I mean, what other coach in our relatively small BB world could get away with what Kim chooses?

Now the real question arrises when you assume that Kim isn't going to stop coaching until, at a minimum, well into her sixth decade. What WILL her style be then?

I NOTICED and she really looks good in lighter colors - and noticed that M&M now has something in her coaching wardrobe except low cut black stuff.

Once upon a time (several years ago) Sherri wore red print capri pants and red spike heels to an afternoon game against Iowa State in the Big 12 tournament in Kansas City. Michelle Voepel wrote a tongue in cheek article about Sherri's "Erin Brockovitch outfit", and got indunated with letters from outraged OU fans. Sherri thought it was funny (but she's never worn anything quite that loud again).

Most of the games I have watched, KMM is still wearing low cut tops--only now they are not always black. She wore a gold glitzy one during a televised game and I wanted to cringe when she took off the jacket she was wearing.

Not much talk about her - in a close game, one suspects a healthy Melissa could have made a difference. There is a post on ESPN reporting she is on crutches. Is there any official information?

35TangoTango
02-11-2010, 11:03 PM
I'm not official but I was there. MJ was at the game on crutches. She would have made more than a little difference. OU's defense had 5 players with at least one foot in the paint. They were literally inviting the Baylor perimeter players to shoot. I would think that would not have been possible were Jones playing.

Of course her position on Baylor's bench in crutches was balanced by Whitney on OU's bench in a humongous full leg brace.
