Despite all the hype of the UConn/Tenn game (#1 v #2, starters v bench, height v quickness, etc.) Oklahoma is a better team and is better coached. And should be ranked #2 on Monday.

Will the Sooners be ranked #2 this week? They should, IMO. Will they?...doubt it.

Media (AP) pollsters are too caught up in the Summitt/L.Vol legacy. They will refuse to realize that Tenn is not a good team, but is a collection of very, very, good players. That Tenn mostly wins by overwhelming opponents with their talent (read: Summitt is a great recruiter, can prepare her team before a game, but can be out coached on the floor against equally talented teams.)

Coaches in the ESPN poll will continue to keep Tenn at #2 because on paper UConn beat both Tenn & OU by the same 14 points. Given the perceived no difference and the Tenn mystic, Tenn will get #2. (Also if Tara V. has a vote, Tenn will still get a #1 vote from her. You know she just loves OU & UConn).

The reality is that good, emerging programs like Coale's OU team will probably not get the nod over Tenn. Despite that, IMO, Oklahoma is a better "team" and is better coached than Tenn.

The good news is that Tenn may lose again. If the Sooners stay tough, the deserved #2 will come. Go Sooners!!!!

Just noticed that the post topic reads Sonners, instead of Sooners. Sorry OU fans, my bad, tried to fix, but the edit function only allowed me to fix post text and not post titles. Bark

and what pollsters will NOT remember is that they were both 14 point losses and they will NOT remember that Oklahoma played on Connecticut's floor and Tennessee did not.

I didn't get to watch the 1st half of the Tennessee/UConn game because I was listening to the OU/TTU game, but I had the TV on, sound muted and it looked like it was a close game the 1st half.
I watched the 2nd half and saw Connecticut go on a huge run, which Tennessee couldn't cut into.....

The Oklahoma game was completely different, Oklahoma was always in the game, IMO......until the last 2/3 minutes. We, OU Fans have seen Oklahoma erase a 20 point deficit in 5 minutes and know they had the potential to do that last year.....

I like OU's loss where it is, I've heard Geno say he doesn't like taking an undefeated team into the tourney. May there only be one (OU loss that is).

Oklahoma should definitely be ranked number 2. Not only were they only 4 points down going into the last 2 minutes, but the only reason the difference balooned to 14 was because they were fouling and UCON was knocking down free throws.

Vandy lost twice last week, but I'll bet they don't slip much since they are in the SEC.

Course OU should be #2....UT played as was said like a collection of great players...but not as a team. They same can NOT be said for UConn and OU. Also looking forward to KSU moving into the Top 25 and we'll have 7 Big 12 teams!
