We're around halfway done with the conference season, so we have a pretty good idea of the relative strengths and weaknesses of teams in the conference. No better time than now to start using my bracket generator to predict the final standings and conference tournament seeding.

Hows does Kansas come up with the 5 seed at 3-4? Texas and Texas A&M both have better records at 4-3.

I assume you hit "Select" without changing the results of any future games. For games not yet played, the home team is selected to win by default. Ideally, you go through the future games and select the team you expect to win each game, and then you hit select to find out the standings and seedings that result from your predictions.

I already know the seeding for ISU mbb. Dead freaking last. Worst team in the Big 12 M or W.

This is a well researched and terrific tool

Unfortunately, it tells me the truth about Tech that I don't want to think about.

But I concur, its great fun to play with and try out different scenarios and it's always on the money.

You can always go to the bracket generator by clicking on "Big 12 Bracket Generator" on the left. It stays there 24/7 - 365 days a year.

That has to be a record. One game left and the team doesn't know whether they'll finish 2nd, 7th, or somewhere in between.

It should be noted that the only way A&M finishes with a 6-seed at 10-6 is if both OSU and Baylor ALSO win on the road against OU and UT, respectively. It's not likely to happen, but I'm not taking anything for granted this year.

If I filled it in correctly it appears...

Since KSU lost to Nebraska (impressive effort though), it appears Tech will play in the 8/9 game in the B12 tourn whether the LRs win or lose at Missouri Sunday.

If Kansas beats A&M, KU is 8/9 seed, playing Tech as the 9/8 seed in the first round. (Exact order depends on whether Tech wins or loses at Mizzou). If KU loses to A&M, KSU moves up to the 8/9 game to face Tech.

Using the you-know-what, and assuming A&M doesn't blow their 25-point lead with five minutes to go, the final, complete seeding scenarios:

Nebraska: 1.
Iowa State: 2.
Oklahoma: With win: 3. With loss: 4.
Texas A&M: With Texas win/OSU win: 3. With Texas win/OU win: 4. With Baylor win/OU win: 5. With Baylor win/OSU win: 6.
Baylor: With win/OSU win: 3. With win/OU win: 4. With loss/OU win: 6. With loss/OSU win: 7.
Texas: With win: 5. With loss/OU win: 6. With loss/OSU win: 7.
Oklahoma State: With win/Baylor win: 5. With win/Texas win: 6. With loss: 7.
Texas Tech: 8/9 game.
Kansas State: 8/9 game.
Kansas: 10.
Colorado: 11.
Missouri: 12.

I thought KSU was going to be a 10 seed with their loss today? I am not sure of the tiebreakers, but I thought I read that somewhere.

Nope. Because KU lost as well, KSU wins the tiebreaker (best record against no. 2 North teams, i.e. Iowa State) and gets into the 8/9 game.
