Nobody else has done that to OU this year.

OU's shooting hasn't been bad, it's been much worse than that.

Kendra Wecker is 'da bomb!
We have 2 more years of her after this???? Geez...she has my vote for conference player of the year thus far.

KSU has unbelievable talent. So much is made of the offense, but KSU's defense really made the biggest impression on me. OU had no rhythym all day long. The Sooners are still making bone-headed turnovers galore. And KSU then shoots 49% on top of that. Seemed like 79%.

KSU's only weakness is their depth. Koehn didn't play at all today which is good for them to rest her.

Positives for OU? Welch is playing some great ball now. There were a couple of stretches where she took over the game both defensively and offensively. And Preston is really coming along. Both of those freshman looked impressive at times for OU.

Where are you Maria? Where are you Teresa? Obviously something not going right in practice also for those girls because they are not even starting anymore. How often do you so your top scorer not even start?

Also lets not forget that OU has 3 losses in conference. 1 each to TTU, UT, and KSU the 3 best teams in conference. Now, OU has to take care of everyone else on their schedule in order to finish 4th or 5th just like I thought they would.

Here's the numbers: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncw/boxscore?gameId=230320201

2 things i'm curious about:

--Why did Villa only play 10 minutes? seems like Shoush and Luce didn't accomplish much...Welch did alright, I suppose.

--Why didn't Patterson rest her starters more in the 2nd half? Wasn't this a great opportunity to give what little bench she has some PT, and on the road at that ?

Maria averaged 4 points a game in the two previous games. Also, don't think Coach is happy with her half-court ball handling or decision making. Shoush seems to be doing better in those respects (though I agree that she is no threat offensively, and we needed one). Maria didn't seem to accomplish a lot when she was in either. Luce comes in so they can move Jackson off the point.

The answer to that maybe lies in the UConn-Duke game. KSU wasn't going to take the foot off the neck while there was any question at all - and OU was still playing hard, if not smart.

Overall, (since this is the worst blowout), I would have to say that KSU is the best of the big 3. If I were them, I'd put Koehn into rehab until tournament time!

ouch! I was thinking maybe for the next game I would paint myself red and jump up and down like the Cameron Crazies....
but it didn't do them a lot of good either http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

Actually, I think KSU had in what bench they could....meaning they have ?3 on the bench that don't see consistent minutes.

I thought Laura Andrews also did a good job.....she's become a really good rebounder. May not always be consistent with her shot.....how in the heck did she draw Ohlde defending her? I thought Chelsi played outstanding, I don't think she sat the entire game.

Not sure this "fire-lighting" experiment of OU's is working http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

A few days after the Baylor game, I heard Jan Ross on the radio and she was asked if Marie was in foul trouble in that game...
and Jan said, no....she started...had turnover, turnover, turnover...Sherri sat her down....put her back in....turnover...
sat her back down. We certainly do miss her offensively, but I have seen games where she tends to get absolutely lost in the first half and has an excellent second half...and vice-versa.
Her ball-handling does leave a lot to be desired. Though I do like her defense better than Shoush's....she can really get off the ground. By the same token, she will turn the ball over and then turn around a commit a foul trying to get it back.

I really think Beky's improving, the post defense has been surprisingly good.

Kendra Wecker is absolutely amazing with some of the shots she can make.

Dionnah Jackson.......OU has got to find a way to get the pressure off Jackson. She's missing shots she made time after time last year; and I honestly think it's the pressure she's putting on herself trying to lead the team.

I say go out and have as much fun as you can.....a lot of the basketball world already thought we were cooked after losing our seniors and then tacking on the injuries.

I have a question for those who were in attendance for this game: Were there many K-State fans there? I only got to see the second half of the game on TV because of the KSU-OU men's game that lasted forever (it was an awesome game, even though my team lost). I swear I heard the K - S - U Wildcats! cheer on the TV, and it sounded pretty loud. Was I just hearing things? By the way, I was very happy with the way K-State bounced back from the ISU game. I was very, very worried about this game, and expected it to be a nailbiter. While I'm happy with the way the game turned out, I know that OU can play better, and wish them luck in all their remaining games. It's funny, but I always root against Oklahoma except for their wbb team. I like them.

Yep, in the last couple of minutes, the KSU fans got on their feet to chant K-S-U.

New Clay Center may just be that bad. They put a beating on a good team in Oklahoma.

Now, I don't feel so bad about what they did to us.

I would say that K-State had by far the biggest contingent of any visiting team to this point.
