...not really
but in reflecting on the quality of the coaches in this league...I think we have the best group of coaches in the country
even Nancy Lieberman agrees...her articles profing the best coaches included 8 Big 12 coaches out of a total of 19
I started to ponder how a team comprised of all the Tech players would play coached by Sheri Coale or an OU team coached by Connie Yori or...an Texas team coached by Marsha Sharp or....
Coaches recruit the kind of players they fit their style but would those same players be as successful or not under a different coach?

I don't know.....listening to Sherri Coale on the radio tonite, she made a comment that "coaches tend to recruit the players they were"....I think, I couldn't hear really well.
I've long thought that OU would probably always be a more guard oriented team than to ever have a "strong" post game....and that falls in line with Sherri having been a PG in college.
I don't think a coach could walk in to someone's elses' program and be successful. I also think a coach knows who fits her/his program and whether the kid they are recruiting fits into the chemistry of the current team or not.
I do agree, we sure have a great bunch of coaches in the Big XII..and it will be great to see both Connie Yori and Julie Goodenough when they get "their" kids into their programs.

I'm reminded of what Houston Oilers coach Bum Phillips said about Don Shula:
"He could beat yourn with hissen, and he could beat hissen with yourn"!
It might be that in some cases a given coach would do very well coaching another coach's team. The dramatic turnarounds demonstrated by some teams when a new coach arrives provide evidence for this. (Minnesota under Brenda Frese, Ohio State under Jim Foster, Baylor under Kim M-R, etc. Oh, and Iowa State under Bill Fennelly, when he first arrived.)
But if the differences in style are too great, I don't think it would work. I don't think Bill Fennelly would do a good job of coaching Marian Washington's players, and vice versa. They've been recruited to two totally different styles and philosophies, and you can't just come in and impose a completely different playing style. I don't believe it would work.

On the other hand, swap Patterson and Fennelly and I bet both teams would do quite well. Of course, KSU and ISU often recruit many of the same players.
