View Full Version : CU wins 66-59
My picks go up in smoke.
Somehow, it doesn't seem so important anymore.
BTW, I could post the picks results tonight, but I'm going to wait for tomorrow, just to provide a little suspense.
As if we need more suspense after tonight.

Good job Buffs!
Thanks to GameTracker I can now yell at my computer as I follow games...my dog HATES basketball season...geez there she goes..yelling at the tv, yelling at the radio (the Tech men are starting to bail against CU) and now she's yelling Go Buffs at the computer.
Tera Bjorklund is keeping her shot...she had 23 points and 9 boards. Scott had 15 pt and 7 boards.
Brown, Blackmon (who didn't start) and Stratton all had lower teens in points.

My picks go up in smoke.
My picks go up in smoke and my Hoopla! scores place me in the Enron Cup Division (there I go, stealing from Chipper again). http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif Oh, well. I don't bet money. I'm happy. The teams in the Big 12 are keeping us in suspense and on our feet afterall.

Realizing the must-win status of this game, Coach Barry really stuck with her veteran players, starting 2 seniors and 3 juniors. All of the starters played more than 30 minutes. The starting 5 of Scott, Lappe, Bjorklund, Wirt, and Fagan makes CU a little slower, but the experience of these 5 makes up for the drop off in athleticism not having Metoyer, Johns-Richardson, Stafford, or Billingsley on the floor.
I was really impressed with Baylor's point guard, Stratton. She has learned a lot from KMR in how to handle the point position not only from running the team, but how to flop on anything that could be interpreted as a charge. CU had 6 offensive charges called on them in in the first half, which is more than I think they have had called on them all year. Stratton also has a nice pull up jumper from about 6-8ft. in addition to her 3-point shooting ability, and exhibits great body control when she drives to the basket. KMR sure gets everything she can out of her players.
Also, it was nice to see the road following that Baylor gets. I know Stratton is from Colorado Springs, but there were about 20 other Baylor fans at the game last night in addition to the Stratton family.
