Missouri at Texas Tech, 7 p.m. - TT
Wednesday, Jan. 29
Baylor at Colorado, 8 p.m. - CU
Kansas State at Iowa State, 7 p.m. - KSU
Nebraska at Kansas, 7 p.m. - KS
Texas at Oklahoma, 7 p.m. - TX
Missouri at Texas Tech
Missouri's timing is unfortunate, as Tech has finally found a sense of urgency, and played like it in Boulder. At home, they will be even tougher.
Baylor at Colorado
Baylor will have a big inside edge over Colorado, although Bjorklund will get her points. Baylor will have a backcourt edge as well, and I expect them to play better perimeter defense than against OU. Could it be that 4 of the best 5 Big 12 teams are in the South?
Kansas State at Iowa State.
Not this year.
Nebraska at Kansas
The Huskers will get that "W" sometime soon, but I'm betting that the end of the losing streak will provide Kansas with a huge confidence boost - for at least one game.
Texas at Oklahoma
My first blatantly biased homer pick this year. No way should OU win this game. However, the Longhorns have played two hugely emotional and difficult games in a row, and this is the second of back-to-back road games. Maria and Theresa wake up, and the Sooners get another improbable win in OT.

Seems like it's been forever since Texas Tech has been home (1 week 2 days http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif ), but I'm glad they are for this game. Should be no problem for the Lady Raiders to take the Tigers. Texas Tech wins by 29
Baylor at Colorado sounds like a really good game to me. Baylor has some tough inside players that can bang down low. I think they take this one in the battle of the younguns. Baylor wins by 13
I just don't know....KSU won't go undefeated in Big XII play but I don't know who they are gonna lose to. I don't expect a letdown of any sort here. Kansas State wins by 19
Battle of the had beens as the struggling Huskers take on the Jayhawks. Don't know who has more talent, though, I would think that Kansas does. To tell you the truth I think the 238 fans at Allen Fieldhouse will be too much for the Huskers to win. Kansas runs away by 4
Many would think that this game would not be close, but I think it'll be a barn burner. OU coming off an emotional win and UT coming off an emotional loss should provide for a nice matchup. Sooners really starting to take off. UT comes prepared and escapes with a close win. UT by 3 (prove me wrong Sooners)

Missouri at Texas Tech, 7 p.m..................
The Pink Raiders got Red again versus Colorado. Memo to Cisti Greenwalt: You are starting to play like Casey Leonhardt. Unaggressive and as useless as a UN arms inspector. Good for TTU that the rest of the team is closing ranks.
I like this Missouri team, and they'll give a game challenge, but it's uphill at USA.
Texas Tech 76, Missouri 56
Wednesday, Jan. 29
Baylor at Colorado, 8 p.m..........Baylor is better than advertised, but CU will drown 'em in the Ceal Tank
Colorado 72, Baylor 62
Kansas State at Iowa State, 7 p.m.....ICBM State showed signs of life in Lincoln Saturday it what became a an old-style Cyclone-Huskers firefight (more on that in the NU-KU preview). The Clone were out the door, until their experienced weapons like Wilson, Junod and a light-out effort by Anne O'Neil outdid the league's worst team. However Kansas State isn't Nebraska, KSU can actually play basketball.
The KSU-Texas game was one of the gems of Big 12 ball this season. I'll tell you, after watching that game watching the NU-ISU game was like going from Omaha Steaks to Spam. Those Wildcats showed heart, resilence, and serious talent. I've been a skeptic of Kansas State and still somewhat am, but I have to give respect. The Clay Center Cats are that darn good, period.
Even in the Ames Hilton, It's KSU in the penthouse
Kansas State 79, Iowa State 70
Nebraska at Kansas, 7 p.m......The Big 12's battle of back features two teams which are putting things together.
Kansas is getting good things from new faces and unexpected places. It was good to see them end their long string of defeat in the league and they have a good chance to make it two-in-a-row.
Nebraska gave ISU a fight and should have won that ballgame. The problem again boiled down to the Huskers fundamental flaws. Too many times when the Huskers had a chance to drop the Cyclones, they didn't execute and that was lethal. Iowa State took adavantage, and became ICBM State when they had to be, and it led to the best effort of Nebraska's conference slate wasted.
Connie Yori's girls have another chance to end a 7-game slide. A tighie on the road in a hostile environment, or as hostile has the 200 Jayhawkers who show up can get.
Please Husker, I beg you, TAKE CARE OF THE BASKETBALL AND EXECUTE THE PLAYS!!!!!!!
Nebraska 58, Kansas 57
Texas at Oklahoma, 7 p.m....The Red River Women's War! I don't cotton to those burnt orange types from the Greater Texas Reich, but I liked what I saw against KSU. This is starting to be Jody's kind of team now. Solid guard play combined with size and toughtness inside, and the Horns have two sound quarterbacks in Nina Street and Jamie Applewhite. Wasn't Ms. Carey nails vs. K-State? The Stanford Jamie Carey was in the building Saturday and its good to see this kid making it all the way back. She needed a game like that to get her mojo and I think she's going to stay on the roll.
Oklahoma shook it up and seemed to pay off. I think any doubts of the coaching ability of Sherri Coale are being answered in the continued development of the Sooners.
Coale seems to coach the way she dresses. Bold, Provcative and its makes one take notice.
As for as this game goes, OU's going to give it ride with a new lineup. Texas has the edge because of the way they are being aggressive on the glass. I dont see the Sooners keeping bulls like Heather Schreiber and Stacy Stephens off the boards effectively
Cue up Texas Fight......Texas 76, Oklahoma 69

Missouri at Texas Tech - Chalk up another win for the Lady Raiders. Texas Tech
Baylor at Colorado - hmmmmm, I think this will be a great game.
Baylor's got to be looking to turn around a heart-breaking loss
and they would love to toss Colorado a loss...leaving BU, CU & MU tied by Thursday morning. Baylor hasn't played in thin air since the 2001 season and I don't think such a young team can adapt. Colorado
Kansas State at Iowa State -- home, away, the moon, Mars....Kansas State can play anywhere. Depending on how well ISU's shooting the ball determines if it's close or a blow-out.
Kansas State
Nebraska at Kansas -- hmmmm, could Kansas possibly win two games in a row after going so long without a win? Yep, had to be a huge confidence booster to win that Big XII game, they won't let up. Kansas
Texas at Oklahoma --- uh oh, I thought OU might have a chance BEFORE I watched Texas play at Kansas State. I'll be curious to see how OU handles the physical defense of UT.....but, I'm a homer and that win at Baylor was like a super-sized shot of confidence. Sure hope the Sooner nation turns out in droves, but even a loud crowd didn't affect UT on Saturday. Go Sooner Magic, go little crimson engine that could.......Oklahoma

Missouri at Texas Tech - TEXAS TECH
I like the Tigers team but I can’t see them winning in Lubbock.
Baylor at Colorado - COLORADO
Neither team looking great right now.
Kansas State at Iowa State -- KANSAS STATE
The Wildcats could easily travel to Lubbock undefeated in conference.
Nebraska at Kansas -- KANSAS
Texas at Oklahoma --- TEXAS
Most everything says that Texas should win this game but after yesterday’s game against Baylor, I’m not counting the Sooners out of any game before it is played. Go HORNS!

UT @ OU - picking with my heart - OU

Missouri at Texas Tech- This one is a no brainer. As long as the Lady Raiders show up to the game with a pulse, they shouldn't have much trouble
Baylor at Colorado- Neither of these teams have looked that impressive in Big 12 play, but Colorado hasn't even been competitive in the big games.
Kansas State at Iowa State- Hopefully K-State can manage to play a better game than we we played ISU at home. I think we can, and win by a bigger margin in Ames than Manhattan.
Nebraska at Kansas- This one could go either way, and I have a feeling this pick is wrong, but I just like to see Kansas having a little success.
Texas at Oklahoma- I think K-State may have just survived their toughest matchup of the Big 12 regular season. Texas is for real, and I think they'll go far in the NCAA tournament.

Missouri at Texas Tech, 7 p.m.
Texas Tech is just to much for Missouri to handle.
Baylor at Colorado, 8 p.m.
I'm going out on a limb here. I think Baylor steals one on the road.
Kansas State at Iowa State, 7 p.m.
Sorry ISU, I don't think you stand a chance.
Nebraska at Kansas, 7 p.m.
Kansas gets a 2 game win streak going.
Texas at Oklahoma, 7 p.m.
Homer pick! On paper, OU doesn't stand much of a chance, but they always seem to find a way to win and this one won't be any different.

Time to get out on a limb.
Missouri at Texas Tech---quick turnaround game for Raiders after playing Sunday, but back in front of the home crowd...TTU over MU
Baylor at Colorado---Buffs will show some fire after Tech game...experience should pay dividends here at home...CU over BU
Kansas State at Iowa State---Cyclones may have been playing better on road than at home so far...have they been tight?...not expected to win this game...they should relax, enjoy the crowd, go for the shock...ISU over KSU
Nebraska at Kansas---Jayhawks got their breakthrough...Huskers have been waiting for this part of the schedule...should be focused and determined...NU over KU
Texas at Oklahoma---very, very impressive win in Waco for Sooners...don't know how OU handles Schreiber (foul trouble?)...Coach Coale has more time to figure it out and a couple thousand times more know-how than I have...maybe she can work that clutch one more time...still I can't get too far out on that limb...UT over OU
Missouri at Texas Tech

MU @ TTU
Pink or Red, the Lady Raiders are sooooo hard to beat in Lubbock. Tech in a romp.
KSU @ ISU
Purple all the way. KSU big.
NU @ KU
In Lincoln I would go with the Huskers. In Lawrence, I say KU.
UT @ OU
Good game, but I think UT pulls away and wins but not by much.
BU @ CU
Here is where we see what the Lady Bears are made of. Can they overcome the devastating loss to OU? If anyone can get the Lady Bears out of a funk it is KMR. Brown, Blackmon and Young need to play well. With Stratton playing in her home state, you think she will play well, but sometimes kids don't play well in front of family and friends. I imagine Monday's practice menu had a very large helping of free throw shooting. The Buffs will be tough in Boulder. I am going to take the Green and Gold in another close Big XII war.
