Oklahoma started hot, 7-10 from the field. But have since cooled off, going 3-14 since then. Throw in 8 TOs since the fast start and that is spelling disaster.
Let's go Big 12!

An OU foul on a made shot and now Tennessee leads 64-54 with 11:15 left... and the free throw is good.
OU setting up a play... not much movement... a good entry pass to Olajuwon is not converted into a layup. The turnover on the other end... and another missed layup from an entry pass.
MAKE SHOTS!

OU is rushing their shots, not getting get position.

Triple double for Stricklin...12 assists.

Just when we thought it was safer, a three from the corner and then another layup sends the Sooners to a 16-point deficit with 7 minutes to play.

It's all academic at this point as the score is now 61-85. Clearly they are outmatched this game, unless there is something else going on...

Looking at the box score, I'm puzzled that Oklahoma's benchwarmers didn't get some time in the game. One minute for Jasmine Hartman? None for Lyndsey Cloman? Are they injured? :confused:http://www.soonersports.com/sports/w-baskbl/stats/2009-2010/20100103.html

When you run with the big dogs, you use the biggest dogs you have.
The one very good thing I took from this game is that well into the second half, OU was keeping up with the big dogs. For OU the skill/experience level really drops quickly when you have to sub for the starters and that is going to be a problem all season long except when we have a comfortable lead. Fortunately, I think Cloman and McFarland will grow up quickly.

As I watched the game last night, I couldn't help but think back a couple of years ago to a similar fate that Baylor faced after Jhasmin Player went out with her knee injury. Coach was going with only 6-7 players in the rotation at that time, even though a few more players were on the bench.
You're right, Gator, in that the OU players did generally hang in. I had empathy for them. (But it won't last when they go up against the Lady Bears! :))

Well, I for one was very proud of my Sooners. I couldn't have been more impressed with the way they came out of the gates blazing taking the action right to all those top notch athletes Pat has stockpiled.
Hell, it was worth the watch to see us put that scowl across Pat's face during most of the 1st half. She even had to give the ref an earful.
JoMac is slowly making progress.
I also was just eating it up watching how well everyone was playing together as a team with all that ball movement on offense looking for the open shot. Unfortunately we just don't have the same kind of horses in the barn as Tenn does; and running out of gas clearly showed through all the TOs and missed shots. Fresh legs does wonders and I'm afraid we're not going to have many for the rest of this season.

It was pretty much last year's OU-Tenn game in reverse. Last year Tenn started strong but OU ran away in the second half. Last year OU had the stronger inside game and the hotter outside shooter.

Yep..that was great.
And the halftime speech where she referred to loss last year and OU going on a run. She got those girls fired up or else in that 2nd half.

I agree with the positive view taken by some of the OU fans.
OU starting five looked good. They just couldn't keep up with the depth of Tennessee. Tennessee had the depth to stay fresher and to create different match-ups. If OU gets tired or someone's having a bad night, there isn't much they can do. Hopefully for OU, some of the bench will be able to contribute in Big 12 play. OU opponents will hope to take advantage of OU's short bench.

The daily oklahoman hasn't had a story on the game at all. That paper gets worse by the day.
Granted, I'm just looking online, not at the paper version.
