Very interesting article. The Florida AD has decided to push women's basketball full force, backing it with plenty of cash, hoping to raise its popularity to Tennessee-like levels.

I hope it works. I worked at Florida 1987-1991, and at that time there was tremendous excitement for women's gymnastics. 3,000-10,000 would show up for every home meet, many up to an hour in advance, and a big contingent traveled (as I did) to see them compete in the NCAA championships in Athens, Georgia in 1989. No reason that women's basketball can't equal or exceed that level of support and enthusiasm.
