Out of silliness I added the Hoopla! scores of KSU's current starters and it came out 80.9. Being sort of a wiseguy I violated the spirit of the game a bit and listed them as my team for session 2. That and too much free time got me to thinking: I wonder what the Hoopla! totals are for the top five Hoopla! scorers on each team (not always the starters)? It came out like this.
#1 KSU 80.9
2. ISU 80
3. OU 76
4. BU 69.6
5. MU 65
6. CU 62.5
7. TTU 61.4
8. OSU 56.9
9. UT 56.8
10. NU 54.7
11. TAMU 52.2
12. KU 48
I figure I better post this before it changes.

KSU.........I don't think there's a thing wrong with picking all KSU players, just means you're a homer, but aren't we all?

Two factors go into this. First and foremost probably for KSU can be seen in their last game. Of the 200 minutes played by KSU players, 199 of them were played by the starters against ISU. And KSU starters had 100% of the total points.
The other factor is simply how many points and rebounds they had along with their field goal percentage and other things. You would have to do some normalization of the Hoopla! team stat to isolate these factors.

Yup, You would if you wanted it to mean one team is better than another. But then on the other hand if you just want to stir up trouble with silly stuff that makes your team look good? or maybe not?
Heck those folks in the University of Miami school of Business taught me how to use (abuse) statistics with the best of them. SAY!! Maybe there WAS a subversive plot to slip an easy win into the Rose Bowl against the Canes. I sure hope not. I was raised in Nebraska and bleed Husker Red when it comes to football.
