It appears that this game will end up sold out. I believe there were less than 1,000 tickets remaining on Thursday morning. I went to pick up my student ticket today, and wanted to pick one up for my girlfriend, but they wouldn't let me. Apparantly they're gonna have about 100 of them left to give out an hour before the game, but they said it might be tough to get one. Should be a great game with a great atmosphere, and I'm just glad that win #800 is already out of the way for Judy and crew. I think being at home is a huge advantage for the Cats, and I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict a K-State victory, 84-75. I hope to see Laurie Koehn get some playing time, if she's up for it.

It was good to see the K-State sports marketing department get back on the stick. No one had a clue the Iowa game was Nicole Ohlde day but the game sponsor (US). They could have sold AT LEAST a thousand more tickets by doing the bare basics of promotion. Last year my organization promoted Ohlde day with radio and newspaper announcements and we distributed 2,600 paid tickets ourselves. This year they were kind and courteous but told us we weren't needed and a real price break on a large block of tickets would not be available. I had no problem with that but I thought it strange that (in my view) they just sat back and waited for people to buy tickets rather than get on the stick and make some announcements. No matter how good the product, promotion is needed and it works.

Don't get me wrong. The Kansas State people I have delt with are great and I support them and the team. I just hate to see empty seats when a little effort will get live fired up fans in the building. Sell-outs aren't just good for that game. They build public and media interest and help sell tickets for future games. Btw on Wednesday there were 600 tickets left for the Texas game and only 700 left for the KSU vs. KU men's game.

GO Sell-outs but especially Big 12 WBB sell-outs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jimi I agree with you. If it means giving free tickets to fill the seats, then do it. Some of those folks will become fans and buy tickets in the future!
