I got seriously distracted watching TTU's men defeat #10 Washington in OT.

Kansas is really playing sloppy. They could blow this game open if they just slow down and execute.

Kansas 38, UCLA 38 7:07 Sunderland misplay leads to steal and bucket. Another bonehead mental mistake by KU

KU offensively seems to be struggling to find a rhythm. At least it looked that way tonight. Bonnie Hendrickson is not the problem here. They are still trying to learn the changes in the system that Goodrich brings to the table...and having some key players in foul trouble hurt.

Once Kansas gets the pieces together, they will be formidable.

I don't fault KU too much for tonight. Some games just go that way. I agree that the JayHawks are going to get a lot better as the year goes along.

I think if these problems happen every year then it is the Head coaches fault. Watched enuff of this crap to know..........

"I think if these problems happen every year then it is the Head coaches fault."

Based on what I saw tonight, and what I saw in KU's prior contests, I don't see where Bonnie gets the blame on it.
The TCU game was two teams that were roughly even strength. Forget about the number next to the name for a second. The Jayhawks have holes. April Goodrich is getting her first live fire of her career. She's new and she's rusty. She'll make mistakes, but notice that she'll also make plays, and tonight she made some key ones. As she learns, McCray gets more dangerous...although I think Coach did need to be more flexible with D McCray tonight, but UCLA had a little to do with that.
Elsewhere, Sade Morris is Sade Morris. She's a solid defender when she wants to be, a streak shooter and a suspect ballhandler. She is about as good as she's going to get. You can't put that on a head coach. Boogaard is inconsistent. At times, she can really get after it. At times, she does her Kristin Geoffroy impersonation. Sunderland had a poor game tonight offensively, normally she's solid if awkward. Coming off the bench are some players who have their roles expanded and newcomers still finding their legs.

Leaguewide we have some guady records out there, but having seen much of the league play so far, I think the teams that have had rough starts are better than the record shows and many of the teams that have some impressive starts really aren't as good as the record shows. That is especially true of much of the North Division. Kansas' losses have been to slouches, they've been to team that are right at or a little above the level. The Jayhawks have been competitive in both. Is KU a top 25 team? I'd say no at this point, but they may get there if the parts mesh in January and February.

Iowa State took a hit against Drake and they may take a few more, but they always have a knack of pulling together. Anna Prins is green and it showed, but Allison Lacey has the reins and she can drive this thing forward.

My lasses in red are 6-0...but that's on the backs of a lot of Jabronis right now. Nebraska is definitely NOT a top 25 team in my view. They have two key games ahead to build a case but that December 20th tilt with LSU will really tell the tale heading into conference play. I like how the girls are improving game to game but I want to see what they do in a kill-or-be-killed game and how they respond, and I really want to see how Kelsey Griffin responds.

Kansas State lost some early contest to teams who's names are in the running to be in the NCAA bracket come March. They are undermanned but game. Much like Kansas, there's still a lot of meshing to do.

Missouri is in much the same boat. Much of that team still seems to have "Hi, My name is _________" tags on and they play like it at times. They have some athletes though.

and Colorado? That team has size and gained some team speed. Britany Spears showed out against Denver and she got my attention. What also got my attention it how for too many long stretches of the game, she seemed to be uninvolved in the offense. Spears is the best gun, fire her as much as possible. KMM really doesn't understand what she has.
