Superb defense by the Lady Raiders. Offense wasn't too bad either shooting a blistering 62.5% from the floor. One bright spot for OSU and that was Trisha Skibbe.

Erin Grant records another double double with 12 points on 6-7 shooting and 11 assists.
All players but one score at least 3 points
Jia Perkins and Plenette Pierson dominate from the opening tip with 12 points and 9 points at the half. Perkins finishes with 16 points and 2 assists and Pierson finishes with 13 points and 7 boards.
5-6 shooting and 11 points for YET ANOTHER fantastic freshman: Chesley Dabbs.

This was never a contest (unless you count the 7-6 lead Tech had.)

Who said "closer than some may think" in the game picks thread?

Oh yeah...should be an interesting matchup during a game that will happen on Wednesday http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif . But in the best interest of my felllow hoopscoopers and myself, I probably won't make any comments before or after the game regardless of outcome. I've learned that I talk a little too much and will keep my mouth shut this time around. I will say that I hope that it is a clean and exciting game that is well played and officiated. Go Tech!

I'm fired up for the game vs. the 'Horns. UT is playing really well at the Erwin Center this season and Tech is just looking better and better. I'll be there in full regalia!!
Tech is the more talented team on paper and UT has been inconsistent this year. However, this is THE rivalry game in the conference and the 'Horns would love to give Coach Conradt her 800th win vs. Tech. Should be one of the best wbb games this year.

I think Dabbs is a diamond sitting on the bench. She's a heck of a player.

I always, in my heart, expect a loss going into the UT game each year. It's a big game between two great teams and coaches. This game is always a good one and players on both sides typically are up and play hard. I just wish it was on TV. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/frown.gif

12 players...11 scored at one point there were 4 freshman on the court. 20 assists 50+rebounds, 60+% FTG...the only downside were the free throws...

and the crazy calls in the 1st half. The 3rd foul on Skibbe was a joke...she was straight up and there were 3 offensive fouls called in row..2 on OSU and 1 on Tech that were also jokes. The Tech radio commentators were ready to start protesting on behalf of OSU.

OSU never really challenged Tech in the paint...they only shot free throws twice and that late in the 2nd half.

OSU has great ball movement and I like Hawkins and Skibbe. I also like Coach Goodenough(sp)...she's a sharp coach...

All and all a terrific performance one we needed going into Austin and Boulder next week. It was great to see Jia knocking down those outside jumpers again...and Dabbs is a gem...11 points, a silky smooth shot.

I really think Dabbs should get more time in the 3 spot. JAckson isn't always a good offensive option and Ritchie isn't always the best defensively and I think Dabbs is the answer. Maybe she'll get some time after todays breakout. She didn't hesitate at all to take it to the hoop!

As always, Skibbe turned in a tremendous performance. She just need more help from her teamates. Most of the fouls called were really ticky tack and OSU got the short end. It may surprise you to know the Tech fans were not too happy about that. We would have preferred a more level playing field.

Goodenough has a lot of building to do, but she is a good coach and I'm sure she will do well. It is just going to take some time.

I was one of the ones who said "closer than some think" in the predictions thread. It was mainly because I like to predict upsets, and always root for the underdog. I will admit that Tech looked impressive, and I look forward to them meeting KSU for what will hopefully determine the Big 12 regular season champ.

I felt sorry for OSU....and am glad that OU was not on TV in Coale's first year with 1 Big XII win....

The Big XII was pretty smart this year....scheduling TTU and KSU on FSN for the last game of the regular season..no other games on Thursday, March 6.
