Halftime. KSU down 35-21. Shalin Spani and Jalana Childs are KSU's only offense right now. They are having a problem stopping Kelsey Luna, who has 15 at half. This is all coming from the box score only. I havent seen or heard any of the game.

Owwww, 62-42, 8 to go. Hard to tell who the "majors" and "mid-majors" are tonight.

64-50 5:34, that's steep but doable.

66-52 4:35, keeping pace this half, but that's not good enough.

73-67 33 sec, running out of real estate. They have shut down Kelsey Luna the last while, but the 5'5" Sr guard does have 34.

77-73 close but not close enough. 52 pts for KSU in the second half. Luna finished with 37. Very even for KSU, Sweat and Kincaid 16, Spani 15, Childs 14.

That was possibly the ugliest first half of basketball I have seen in the last 10 years. No flow, little purposeful movement and way too much matador defense. The capper for it was letting Kelsey Luna go coast to coast for an open buzzer beater layup with 6 seconds left in the half. No one even made her alter her direct course to the basket much less stop her. Most of the second half did not look all that much better.

I understand the Wildcats did not have a good week of practice. Taelor Karr got herself into Coach Patterson's doghouse for lack of practice effort so she did not start and did not play for much of the first half. Let's hope the team has figured out that we can not expect anything good to happen with anything less than our best preparation. It's not good enough to just show up on game day.

I hope the Sycamores are nearly as good as we made them look tonight. They did play very well but I'm afraid we made them look even better than they are.
